That's encouraging. I was mostly concerned with the durability since a kitchen sink takes more abuse than a bathroom sink. I have a cast iron sink in now, which I don't like. It's looking pretty shabby. I thought about doing a pour on it, but I really like the wood idea. I recently reached my cupboards and countertop in blue stain pine. A rustic matching wood sink would be great.

when i saw this video, i came up with the idea of a wooden sink, but the wood is "naturally split in several parts" (you can break it to get the wood to split "naturally".) joined with epoxy, but in the joints you can put led lights (which you can remove in case the led stop working to replace them). although I like the wooden version I mentioned before, but you could also use another material instead of wood, like stone or something else. if you could make a video making one like that it would be great, i would love to see it. i don't know if your followers would like to see that too. sorry for the english, I am using deepl translator.

Amazing. Thanks Mitch. God bless. Side note for anyone skeptical of the ultimate top coat, that stuff is tough! Did my big double bowl ceramic kitchen sink with it a year ago and it shows no sign of wear with daily use for a family of four. Follow RK3 Designs instructions. Edit: Looks like Mitch is teaching it. 1:2 sounds crazy but it works nice.

Yes it will, I'd do 2-3 3 ounce per sqft od project once the wood is sealed. You want a nice coating on the vertical part of the sink bowl. You Got This!!! -Mitch

Some people say epoxy does not hold up outdoors because of the UV that damages the epoxy. Is this correct? If no what epoxy and methods can be used?

Correct. Best practice when going outside would be to install the project under a patio cover and out of direct sunlight. Early next year we will have this solved with the new polyaspartic countertop coating that will not yellow, even outdoors! Thanks for watching -Mitch

The epoxy will last forever pretty much. The bottom side also has a thin layer of epoxy to keep relative moisture from cupping the slab. Thanks for always commenting on my videos.
