Valentine's day is coming up soon so I thought this would be a fun, appropriate little project. I had a lot of fun making it and learned a bit about metal shaping and soldering along the way. Enjoy!

WOW that is amazing work Chuck! How about building a custom hand crafted motorcycle? Or some custom differential covers especially 14 bolt covers? Or more custom works of metal art like you did in this video? Just throwing some suggestions out there for future projects! P.S don't be afraid to make longer videos we love watching you work your magic

I always love getting suggestions! And the longer videos would much easier to edit. I do plan on doing a custom motorcycle build in the future. I've always wanted to take a harley big twin and build a bobber from the ground up, frame and all. So I think that would make an awesome series! And there will be plenty more metal art (and furniture) to come 👍

Nicely done! You make it look so easy I think I'll give it a try. I have a project coming up that includes a rose, which I've been planning on carving from wood however I had the thought recently of doing it in copper instead and thus how I got here to your video. Thanks for sharing!!! BTW - you left off the sepals and thorns. Any particular reason why?

Glad you liked it! Biggest tip I could give is watch your heat distribution. I had to redo this several times because the solder would melt, and everything would just fall apart. But it's possible! I honestly dont have a reason though, just didnt really think about it lol but next time I will!

You could try using jewellery silver solder, it's what I'm planning on using to make a version of you shared. Your work is excellent, I really enjoyed the results you achieved without having to buy expensive tools. Anyway, about the solder. It comes in 4 grades and each grade has a different heat range in which it melts and solders; it's how jewellers solder lots of tiny pieces together. It goes hard, medium, easy and extra easy and hard has the highest melting point. I hope this helps and makes the soldering easier. The only problem is, it won't fill gaps like that lead solder did. The fitment of petals to the stem would have to be a lot closer.

Well done, you make it look very easy. What are those sanding wheels called that are on the bench grinder?
@ChucksCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Theyre just wire wheels and buffing wheels from harbor freight

Beautiful work buddy what are you using to weld the copper together?
@ChucksCustoms4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's just regular plumbing solder and flux
