i looked up and watched the video you sourced the sculpting technique from and came back rewatched this one. The guy forgets he is doing a tutorial 2/3 til the end, while he's in Substance. Ive never seen that before. Funny. His Blender version is older and things have moved around so i just came back and took notes on yours for the settings. Glad i watched both for focus aspects.

You can persevere, don't always think that you need to have the latest hardware to work, plenty of people do amazing stuff with very limited hardware and people have been making really cool renders many many years ago with slow gpu's or even on their cpu, be clever about your render settings, render only certain areas while you're testing things out, maybe batch 4 or 5 renders and leave your computer on at night so you have different camera settings to choose from the next morning, keep up at it and I'm sure you'll eventually be able to afford a new shiny gpu and you'll even appreciate it more once you have it, cheers!

Not sure if this will help you but ambient occlusion only shows up in Cycles, not Eevee. So if you're in material preview mode or your render settings are set to Eevee then you won't see it!

You can try not to do full UV, but to apply UV from the view, to do this, go to edit mode and press U, and then select Project from View (Hello from Russsia;) ) dont forget select all verticles OR Project from View (bounds) try to experiment And don't forget to arrange the view of the object so that the texture falls like paper on a bottle

You need to add Texture Coordinator and Mapping nodes in the Shader Editor to the material that you uploaded, and select UV in Texture coordinator, you can also try not to do full UV, but apply UV from the view, to do this, go to edit mode and press U, and then select Project from View

For static images, these look cool, but you should really focus on optimisation. Your lighting would have been significantly smoother if you had optimised the pillar mesh, as a lot of processing went wasted on detail that isn't visible.

When I'm finished sculpting, my mesh is very high-poly and it causes Blender to crash when I enter the rendered view. Anyone got a fix for this? I've tried the decimate modifier but it didn't help. I don't even know if it's the high poly count that causes issues. Might be the ancient occlusion? I feel like that is when it started crashing but idk. Help.
@kingpennotch81519 ай бұрын
Try setting the dyntopo to constant detail and choose a value like 20 or something of the sort. Also remember to apply scale and turn on statistics in the overlays menu(the 2 circle in the top right) to keep track of poly count. Hope this helps!

Could be the ambient occlusion. I'm having the same issue. Every time I go into rendered view, my blender keeps on loading kernels and crashes. In smaller scenes setting the shading to 'smooth' helps but in bigger scenes, the ambient node always seems to cause problems. (Same for the bevel node) I'm still looking for a solution cuz almost every tutorial for shading includes edge masks or the pointiness node. It really sucks because I want to level up my shading game but no one seems to have this issue.
