Making a Custom Foam Mannequin Head

A custom fitted foam head model can be useful for styling wigs and for patterning custom fitted helmets. Here's how I created a pattern of my head and turned it into a foam mannequin.

Speaking of your dress form, did you also make it? I have an adjustable dress form but it doesn't really replicate my body shape accurately, so I'd love to know how to custom make one

I tried this but found my foam head was about 2 inches larger than my real head, due to the foam. So I think I’ll try again and reduce my templates digitally to account for the foam thickness.
