Thank you, Beth for showing how to make a very nice quilter's ironing surface. I just found your video made three years ago.

I have a ironing board made from a hollow inside door. The key to keep the wood from warping is to drill holes to allow the steam from the iron to be released. I used upholstery batting and heavy canvas. It is now 15 years old and still going.

I'm coming up on 67 myself. It's nice to see seniors who are still learning new tricks. Not only sewing but the other electrical gadgets you use.

Hello from Melbourne Australia. Loved the detailed tutorial. Especially the Tula Fabric. Do you prefer this to the wool pressing mats which are expensive. I made myself a small one of these. Is the silicone underside especially for heat? What is the table thing you have under it and the height. ? I need to make another. I will try to get that tape on Amazon. So the glue is like craft glue or stronger? 👏

It’s not plywood. That’s OSB. Not as smooth as plywood and the steam may eventually cause the small strands to raise, but will probably work for a long time anyway.

What is the silver fabric you put on it?

It is heat proof ironing board fabric…❤️

I'm afraid your board will have only the 4 corners in contact with your table surface

It is big enough and heavy enough that it only moves if I push it

I’m sorry I can’t hear you at all I really did want to watch your video but your speech volume is almost none. The sound of your stapler is just fine. Maybe you can speak up or into your microphone
