I bought one of your rings after buying two other copper rings and yours is the best with no breaking or ring discoloration at the solder sites. It’s beautiful, thank you.

Thank you for this lovely video. I am a bit limited by the amount of tools I have, but have enough to try this gorgeous ring, would welcome more jewellery designs which don't include expensive tools such as: presses, rolling mills, kilns etc..if possible, thank you..

I made a brass one similar to yours but the dents in mine are smaller and closer to each other I didn't have a metal bar to hammer it on so i cut the brass stripp and hammered it on an anvil then i bent it, soldered it and polished it

Hi, varnish is temporary protection after some time it will flake off from metal, that's why I'm not covering with varnish.

Can you tell us more about the ring holder you use on your flex shaft at the end of the video? It looks homemade but a great idea.
@azrings2 жыл бұрын
Hello, that's not a flexshaft it's a electric motor with shaft and thread on the end. It's factory manufactured thing used for griding stone applications.

You don't want to anneal copper to cherry red because this damages the metal and actually makes it stiffer. Very dull red is best. Also allow the red to disappear before quenching.

I'd give him just a tick of the benefit of doubt on this, the camera may be tricking your eye. This guy literally does this for a living and has the process down pretty well.

If I leave copper ring cool down, then I will get thicker surface oxide and I need more time and grinding material to clean this. I never got copper cracking after hammering with this method. But sometimes I leave to cool down then I can make more depper hammer texture.

How do you get passed the fact that when you hammer you expand the ring to another size... how do you keep the starting size that you intend to make?
@azrings3 жыл бұрын
Hello, I have formula which calculates what correct width I need to wanted size.
@juegoart44143 жыл бұрын
Just make it one size smaller...when you hammer it, it usually grows about one size

I love It...I have done ring like this. The finger is become green after few days. Any solution ?
@azrings3 жыл бұрын
Hi. You can try to use some varnish, but it will not stay forever on metal. I noticed that if you wear ring longer coloring will be less noticeable, because ring will have thicker copper oxide.

Hello, the tool is called "Triblet" or "Mandrel". This tool I using in video: durston.com/product/hardened-ring-mandrel-10-25-1kg/ This is most important tool for me, if you willing to make rings I recommend to buy Durston or Pepe tools brand.

I'm couriouse how it's possible to have a copper ring not turn your finger green? The ring came out stunning don't get me wrong I'm just very curious
@azrings2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thre is some varnishes for metal, but they will not stay long. Also I notice when ring will be covered with thicker layer of oxidation will leave less green spot on finger.

@@christiancamberos9003 Copper is not stable metal, to have mirror polish you need probably every day to take care of him. Rose gold is best option, but of course price is much bigger.

I noticed you are selling your rings without varnish. What IS the purpose of the varnish anyways? IF you did varnish what would you use? I am a newbie - can you tell? LOL!
@azrings2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Varnish is to protect copper form oxidation, copper turns brown or green color after wearing ring (depends on skin type) also it leaves green-blue spot on your finger. Some people don't like this. Varnish is temporary protection after some time it will flake off from metal, that's why I'm not covering with varnish.
