This is the first video in a five part series. I'll show you how to cut and machine the parts that will support the entire structure of the band saw, as well as the wheel's lifting and tilting system.

Hi, have you ever considered making and selling all the component parts as a 'build your own' project, along with all fittings and necessary items required to just assemble the band saw ? I am sure that such a project would be welcomed by all those just wishing to assemble using the plans and not have all the hassle of the cutting and drilling involved. Regards - John

HI I have watched most of your videos over this last week and must tell you that you are by far one of the best decriers of your work as you are doing it. I am also in the process of resetting up my shop so I will by purchasing several of your plans to modify for my needs. I do want to ask you if the bandsaw can be made wi where it has a larger re-saw capacity and leaving everything else basically the same? Thank you in advance.

Astonishing woodworking! I love your precision and craftsmanship! Im planning to build a band saw and your design is very good and robust! I wonder why do you cut these horisontal holes but not only the rectangular hole for the tilting support system in the upper box (visible at 7:23 in the video)? Also, Im thinking how to make the design thinner without losing too much of the structural strength. What is your opinion, could the motor drivebelt be located into same box with the saw blade wheel to enable thinner structure?

hello Janne, that holes are for a easier install/removal of the screws that works as shaft. I do not advise you to make the design thinner.
