Decided some time ago to make a leather pricking iron out of a fork just because when I started working with leather I had very little money and was trying to find a way of making even spaced holes. So this is that ive made

Awesome! About the only thing I'd add to this is a copper endcap on the handle to keep the wood from betting banged up when you hammer on it, and to stop the face of a mallet from getting marred by the steel of the fork.

G'day from down under. Obviously you are one of the "Highly Creative Cultured Craftsman". Very Rare. There are many things in this world money cannot buy: YOUR TALENT. Keep going buddy. Good on you. Don't worry if some people don't even understand what creative talent means. I witnessed a very interesting encounter: years ago there was an accomplished senior artist was doing a sketch- on the spot painting of scenery on canvas, there was other person approached with a camera hanging on his neck. He took a snap photo (old film camera) of that scenery this artis was working on. He made a comment: my camera is quicker than his way of doing painting..??

I am rather worry with the way he cuts piece of timber with an axe while his fingers were under it. Other than that he is an excellent craftsman no doubt for that. But one would never know while he slams the axe on top of wood, it might goes the wrong way. Hope not
@rotarvalentin
@rotarvalentin 11 ай бұрын
Always put the axe on the wood and then gently tap it after it bites the wood stay clear of that piece :)). I could have just used the bandsaw but wanted to use all tools because not all guys have power or fancy tools. So far kept them all fingers atached 😅😅 P.s that was a bad axe but it was close by

@@rotarvalentin naw man just lay the wood sideways while holding the axehead directly to it and slap it down for a safe split. I thought I was being safe until my axe jumped and I cut my thumb off. Don't be like me.
