MAKING A LEATHER SWORD SHEATH

This week I'm crafting a leather sword sheath for my good buddy Derek. This particular sword was crafted by Knight Owl Forge out of Bonney Lake, WA and is a Filipino Sword called an Itak Tagalog. The fighting style this sword is used for has many names depending on specific regions. In this case, I was told to call it Arnis, or Filipino martial arts. The style can also be called Escrima or Kali, depending on the source.

The leather I'm using here is a 6-7oz thick Buck Brown Harness leather from the Wickett & Craig Tannery in Curwensville, PA.
I'm using a lightweight .020" black waxed polycord from Maine Thread Company.

@legacybrandleather This video is awesome, but idk if you noticed, the sound cuts out twice. Not sure if it's fixable or not, but just letting you know.

Thanks for the heads-up. In the past I was using a site that claimed royalty-free music, but alas it was not. Since then, the video was flagged and the audio cuts out at times due to the flag. Wish I could fix, but the video is already posted.

Itak tagalog, it use as agricultural tools or weapon.. That's a nice sheath. Its better to have sheath for your sword. Because here in Philippines, there's a lot of farmers die by hitting thunder.

Man thats an awesome blade and it deserves that sheath right there. Im making my first sword sheath as well. Guess ill have my saddle stitch down by the time im done. Ive only made an axe sheath and am new to leather. Thx for the video!
