Wish I could build an elevator like Felix did when I started playing with Redstone. Actually impressed that he made it.

The only thing impressive about the meatball elevator is that Felix did it and had the supplies to. The meatball elevator is barely and elevator and is more a lame, over complicated, spiral staircase made out of pistons that go side and up. Its much more complex than needed to be and inst even that good. I give the meatball elevator a 1/10. Very bad. I have studied red stone for the past 5 months and most people who appreciate it barely know basics. I am not a hater of Pewdiepie, I love his content, its just that the meatball elevator and their appreciators are a little toxic.

@@nigelchromed that would be another addition that would be pretty awesome to see. It might be possible to place a jukebox on top of the Flying Machine part along with a hopper system to eject and reload the disc. But I'm not sure if this would add too much weight to the system for blocks to be moved, and I'm not sure how you would activate the Jukebox. It would require some pretty heavy Redstone circuitry at my initial thought and you would have to dramatically expand the flying machine to carry all of that because everything would have to stay connected to the Jukebox. Probably have it started with an observer probably based on when it leaves a block and touches a new block at the top and bottom respectively. It's possible, but it might require a more dramatic redesign of the original elevator. At the very least, I would suspect that it would need an increase in the Flying Machine capacity.

It might be easy if command blocks were allowed (to add and remove the bedrock that stops the elevator or sets the direction. It might involve redstone that works like an old relay logic controller.

Might be as easy as pushing regular blocks in the path just to break the piston limit, then retracting the floors that would be crossed and extending only the one at the stop

IronEnderGamer PUBG Not if the single block being there breaks the piston’s push limit cuz it was already pushing max on the elevator. Could also just be a lone piston’s extension block in the path of the elevator, that wouldn’t be pushable

Could have used water signals or leaf signals to transfer the signal for sending and recieving! Pls like so he sees. Edit: I didn’t think that so many people would think this is a good idea, I’m in a bad place right now but this has been a bit of an uplift! Thanks

To send the signal down use a dropper at the top and a hopper at the bottom. Then when you use the water elevator to send the signal up you don’t have to use a lot of items

Ryan West observers can detect bubbles so you don’t need items. For downwards use a daylight sensor and a piston that extends to block it

I found a Problem with that elevator: -When you're on top and the elevator is down, the call plate doesn't work.

Just built this! Works pretty good. On my Wii U version, I will fall out sometimes if i move around. I'm thinking its from being too close to a wall. I think this because i cant put glass in front either. I'm going to try a 4x4 platform and see how that works. The only part i wan't able to reproduce was the final redstone for keeping the door closed until the elevator is at the station.

Well done Mumbo. As a real world elevator mechanic, I like it. Now you only need to figure out how to make it have more than 2 floors.

After some thought, having at least a multiple piston system in place that extends movable blocks over the top two non sticky blocks while overloading the push capacity of the sticky blocks could work. As long as the system can retract the blocks while not sticking to the elevator it would cause no issues. Use that push capacity as a positive not a flaw! Would love to those floor stopping blocks get auto removed once the elevator reaches it's floor.

Damn Mumbo .... such a nice job! Would really fit into the style of Grians Base, especially as the "central-elevator" for his towers. 2 of those are angled, so it would be a pain in the back doing a thing like this there, but in the "regular" non angled tower it would fit in perfectly. Escpecially because you could either watch yourself going upwards gradually, or (if he should ever decide, that he will do a mob-spawner in his tower :P ) you could watch some creepers etc. spawn and die :)

The moment pistons were introduced (back in Beta 1.6 I think?), I wanted to create a realistic elevator However, while my redstone-fu wasn't terrible, it wasn't enough for the mechanics back then (no slime blocks, so no movable structures), so I stopped trying. Your look into the concept, now with more modern mechanics, makes me want to revisit that old idea of mine. It looks really great too.

The best way to transmit signal down is using a daylight sensor at the bottom and at the top a piston that pushes a block to cover it. For upwards you should use bubble columns

important update: to anyone who has downloaded at isn't working, here's why: 1) at the top there are slabs not full blocks under the pressure plates. 2) in the red wool section at the bottom there is one repeater set to 1 tick, it should be set to 4. (without this calling from the top when the elevator is at the bottom will break the mechanism) 3) also swap out the plates for buttons you maniacs XD

Why not use a water update detector so that you don't have to have a redstone torch tower? You can make an aquarium somewhere nearby to make it look even MORE fancy and with bubbles, it's fitting in the theme of an aquarium. Once it detects the update it will send/receiver the elevator. not to mention it's faster of an update and less laggy than torch towers.

In the 1.14 snapshots (and eventually the full release) you can send updates through scaffolding towers as well.
