Hey folks, so I decide to combine a little project here and make a Tesseract Borg Cube, Yep that's weird but I like weird as you know. As its kind of futuristic i had my friend over who loves back to the future like me, Dougie Poynter from the band McFly.

While the prizm cube looks great on both stands, I tend to be particularly drawn to the wooden stand more! I believe it shows the refracted lights in a better angle! Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder after all! Great job in bringing your idea to 'Light'!

Yours came out cleaner, though. You're very precise and take extreme detailed time. Always killin dem bubbles! Lol. Maybe it was the new resin he used, I don't know... it just didn't look as clear. But I still love Nick's stuff and I love yours. Your patience, which I lack, makes me anxious. 🤣

@@justbailey90 I believe it's because Nick didn't turn the cubes the same direction. Either he didn't realize that every face is different or he did it intentionally. While it's still pretty, I personally prefer when it's more consistent.

Second i realised what you were making there i thought "" oo 4 magnets in the cube and a ring of magnets in the block you could have it spinning and floating "" , feel fre to use the idea lol

I think this would be a great idea for an orb. I wonder if there would be a way to hide the magnets inside the orb? It seems to me they would be sort of an eye sore if the orb was clear like this project.

Pryonick, I get it. My sense of balance and proportion (OCD) says it should be 4X4 as well. But then I look at it and get mesmerized all the same.

I could totally see this as a vase. By day is would be a beautiful container for flowers , but by night , with the lights I think it would be stunning, if it was enough light to make the flowers glow.

you should make a resin ball filled with the small square mirrors used on disco balls so it would reflect lights in all directions. Then see how it looks shining a light on it or hanging it in a window.

Like, don’t get me wrong, this is a BEAUTIFUL thing! I love looking at it. But at the same time, my dumb ass Brain is like “reject!! It’s not entirely pleasing!!” Sometimes I hate my Brain with a passion stronger than Nick’s passion for woodwork.

Amazing! Love it 🥰 Here is another idea for those tiny blocks. Dumb a handful into a mold and fill with resin. Not lined up....just dumped in so they are all facing different directions. Then make a sphere, pot of bowl out of it. Oh and I liked the first base you made for it

So, the first or second module in a mecanic or woodworking class they teach you is called "health and security". And one of the most important info in that particular module mention to not wear jewels, long hair, a scarft, a hoodie or anything that go get stuck in a moving tool. You can be strangled to death. That nonsense with naming the thing was absolutely unnecessary and infuriating. Try searching for "optical cube" or "dichroic cube." You can find them on Amazon, eBay, etc.
