Firehouse Windows • INCREDIBLE Ghostbuster...
We focus on making the large Ghostbusters HQ firehouse playset playhouse exterior faux brick wall and the main firehouse Ecto-1 door perfect for the blitzway Ghostbusters Ecto-1 16th scale. We have finally started the details on the outside of the fire station façade. This Ghostbusters playhouse has interior & furniture inspired from the 80s Ghostbusters toys, Ghostbusters movies, and animated cartoon series. We are drawing inspiration for the design of this Spook Central Ghostbusters headquarters off the Ghostbusters movie filming locations. The exterior of the firehouse building in New York, Hook & Ladder Company 8, and the interior of the Fire Station No. 23 in Los Angeles. The fire stations have been a filming location for several other shows and movies, but as the home base for the Ghostbusters, what better fire station could you model from for a kids' playhouse? We also got a few ideas from looking over our sons Ghostbusters firehouse Playmobil toy playset, the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters, and the Kenner Classics Real Ghostbusters firehouse playset images online. Other inspirations for ideas came from the Ghostbusters video game and The Real Ghostbusters animated TV series cartoon. The plan is to incorporate some other items from the Ghostbusters movies like a ghost trap, ecto containment unit, electrical shut off switches, wood lockers, wood railing, Slimer with slime splats, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and much more. Time to put on some Ray Parker Jr. Ghostbusters music and get to work.

Those bricks came out really nice.. I think the only thing I would've done differently was not paint them white and just painted the red over existing colors as some would show thru giving them some variations. That medallion was pretty genius too.

Thank you! That would have been a good idea to try. We plan on using a light wash to help create some variations but we do want to make sure it still feels like a toy version as well. The biggest reason we chose to paint over everything was to get in all the grout lines and brick edges real quick and easy.

Thank you MrsC B that's funny cause he probably will. We are always trying to explain to him that the latex paint we use on projects is different paint than his washable paints and yes he likes to use several hand tools as his backyard tools.

Warning ,4 alarm alert has gone out. I am blown away, blown away, blown away, and BLOWN AWAY!!!! I just loved the look when you had installed all the bricks, I thought what a great look. And then you painted it, and then painted it again ,and then again. And now you want to go back and distress it. My head is on a swivel right now trying to focus on this incredible feature that you're building for Harrison. As a hunter I know the feeling that you are never satisfied with how things look. There's always something else more that we can add. Your knowledge of material, plus your craftsmanship and passion continues to take all of your endeavors over the top. Well done

Thank you so much Paul we try to break the projects down and do it in the best order we can making the most sense but that doesn't always mean less work that's for sure. Then much later after we finish we always think of tricks we could have done for the next time. Good thing we enjoy the process.

You’re not patting yourself on the back like you should over the medallion- WOW! I could only see a tiny-slight difference and it otherwise is unclockable! That you all pieced it together from a bunch of separate pieces is soooo cool- AND beautiful. As always, guys, tremendous work!

Absolutely, positively incredible. When your son grows out of it, please continue to build upon it and maybe make scale figures to go inside of it. Maybe try to make it even more like the firehouse inside. This is a work of art. I can't believe some nut gave this a thumbs down.

I worked a little over 3 days on them but I'd say it took two whole days to cut and install all those. I was done with them by the time I finished that's for sure. Good thing I listened to Jeana and made this a little smaller than I was going to.

Wow! Simply wow! I know this really consumed a lot of your time but I'm very sure it's worth every second, minute, hour, day, week, and month that it took you to finish this project. Not to mention all the sweat, and tear that you put into all this. But one question popped up in my mind when I first saw the front doors of your GB firehouse. I was thinking, would the Blitzway 1/6 scale Ghostbusters Ecto-1 vehicle, as well as the figures, be the right size or scale for this firehouse? The way I see it, it's almost a perfect match! At least, from my perspective, that is. So, if you happen to have those Blitzway Ecto-1 and GB action figures lying around, you could display them next, around, or in your firehouse which I'm sure will add a great deal of immaculacy and intricacy to the facade and the building as a whole. And finally, I just want to say great job for being a great dad and a husband. You just got a new subscriber today. Me!

I need to find out what the length of the Ecto-1 is in inches and the figures height and then I could check. That's fun that you thought of that. 😁👍

@@HollywoodHaunterThis is what I found out about the measurements. Here goes: Height: 19.7". Width: 17.7" and the length is 45.7". The action figures all stand about 12" each. Hope this bit of info will give you a rough idea on how they scale to your highly detailed and immaculate Ghostbusters firehouse.

Ok, you definitely got my attention with the Goonies Ship comment ... it was called The Inferno!!! I am going to be rebuilding my shipwreck, hopefully this summer.

How exciting we would love to see that if possible. Making a ship really would be so much fun but we may tackle a couple smaller projects first after this. 😂

Thank you so much Ryan that is very kind of you to offer. We actually did want to incorporate the slime splats on the inside of the firehouse. We painted a couple splats you can see in part 7 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lbSjqrRzybqXeZs.html We loved the color but they are already fading a little in the weather. Guess we should have forked out money for the good stuff.😂👍

Not sure we purchased plywood and paint but had everything else we needed. It would cost $$$$ if you had to buy all new materials.

Hey Cris, I am such a HUGE Fan of both of you Two, and Love how you were blessed with so much skill and talent....and for having such a great personality as well, to go along with it all. My question to you guys is, when you built your Ghost Town....How long did it take you ,from Start to Finish, to get that whole project done? How far in advance of Halloween did you start that incredible project? I guess, I should ask you the same question concerning your just as impressive, Haunted Mansion that you built for the TV Show....When did you Start that and how long did it take you to Finish the Mansion? The reason that I ask is, I am always wondering....How far in advance of Halloween , should we all be building our little Haunts? I am always scrambling till the last moment, to put the finishing touches on things, and I sure would like to Start...a lot Sooner than I do, but....it seems to be , never ever soon enough. You had to be making Plans for your Ghost Town and your Mansion at least a year in advance, in order to even know where to begin. There is No Way, that you just Winged it all. I wish that I had your Talent. I wish that I would have gone to my elective Shop Class's when I was in High School, and had learned to build that Stupid Spice Rack and Bird House at the time, as opposed to skipping out and throwing the Football around. Ya...back in High School, we were Too COOL to be building any Bird House! lol Now I just Wish, that I had gone to all of those class's. As an Adult now, I own every Dewalt Tool known to Mankind, but...don't know how to use any of them properly! hahaha True Story. I was using my Router the other day, and it just took off on me, and did its own thing. I tried making a Frame for a picture, and while cutting my 45's. I discovered that my 45's were all different from one another, due to my Mitre Saw not being Adjusted/ Levelled or Dialled in properly. DOH!. That is why when I watch you, I am in total Hero Worship . Chris , you are the Best of the Best. Thanks for inspiring me, to learn more and more about wood and basic carpentry. I really do admire you. Cheers

Thank you Stone Slinger that's very nice of you and we appreciate the kind words. In the past with in the pre Harrison era many of the projects we worked on we tried to post updates as we built it. I honestly can't remember exactly how long each façade took for sure but I'd guess that each build video post date in the description would be with in a week or so from the work done. I want to say we started with those big projects some time in June or July. Since I never took the time to learn and get quick with sketch up or auto cad the only thing we do ahead of time is get several inspirations and ideas and then draw up a few construction plans just to figure out scale and how much lumber we need. We normally don't spend any time drawing finished looks because we change and add stuff as we make it most of the time. Another trick I always try to do is make everything break down in pieces usually 4' x 8' or less so its easier for us to manage. With the ghost town we had plenty of time but for the mansion it was a time crunch because they filmed in like august. We had to plan and build that thing within 50 days for the show. It was crazy but we had a good time. When you start with your project do your planning and stuff but don't worry about it being perfect. As you start getting creative and adding the different elements to it it will start to come together and look good. Hope that helps and keep us posted on the progress

We just used a little eye screw and some rebar tie wire wrapped around him under his arms in-between a fat roll
