I always associate September with Autumn living in the UK. But officially it’s still Summer ☀️ until the 23rd September.

I cannot accept this. It is always - always - going to be autumn before my birthday arrives. Always. My brain told me this is true so it must be true!

Love how Robocop is on Nintendo just warms my heart that a game based one of the most violent films ever made is on the worlds nicest console… also talking of TV I can’t get over how late night TV basically died and nobody seemed to care…. I can’t get over I knew so many people that would stay awake till like 3am to watch something that would never happen now.

Late night TV was a must-watch, I agree. There was some ridiculously fun stuff on in that dumping ground slot.

With radio, the DJ was a big thing. Now we have the technology to emulate them ChatGPT etc - but I stopped worrying about the presenter when streaming came in 20 years back. On TV continuity announcers less interesting. We did used to gather around the TV to hear John Mundy (North West England BBC) tell us to unplug the set after switching it off at the close of play each day.

The announcer is less interesting, that's true, but on the BBC the continuity announcer plus the between-program clips, announcements, etc form a strong part of the personality of the channel. Remember when those cool BBC 2 logo with the paint, etc came in? Or Channel 4's exploding and rebuilding logo arrived? They are a strong part of those channels' identities.
