In this video, I begin to sort out my atrocious sandpaper storage by making a sandpaper rack to neatly store rolls and make them easily accessible.
This is the first part of the project, the next video will focus on making the bracket that holds the turned spindle in place.

I love your videos Matt, if you can check you'll see I've given you lots of likes. But don't you think reserving the pinned comment to ask viewers yet again to 'Like' your vidio comes across as a little too needy? I mean no disrespect. I usually see the pinned comment as something that has been highlighted by the channel host to bring to attention an informative or really interesting comment by a viewer. That said, great vidio, I'm I'm off to watch part two now 👍

I love your videos. Very informative, sometimes shows that we all make mistakes and there’s always a way to fix them, and they’re very well edited. Keep them coming! You’re my favorite woodworker to watch. I learn something from watching each of your videos.

When you have an awkward sized hole to drill, take an oversized spade bit and grind both sides down carefully until you have the exact diameter you need.

Love your videos! An idea for a bonus video maybe? With having a camera on you in your shop for so long, you’ve got to have plenty of in-shop accidents on video. Any chance you could compile a video of them and maybe explain what went wrong?

It turned out pretty good for having to turn it in two separate sections. You're making me begin to wish I had a lathe. As far as the odor in your mask, wipe the hard surfaces with vanilla extract, not imitation vanilla extract, pure vanilla extract. It removes odors; I've used it many times on coolers and other things that have developed odors to get rid of those odors. You may have to apply it more than though depending on the severity of the odor in your mask. You may be able to apply it to any fabric surfaces too; I've never had to do it so I don't know if and how well it will work.

have you ever tried "sanding" with the offcuts in the lathe bed? centuries ago when i was in tech school we were taught to use the sawdust to buff the project to a smooth finish

Here's another little trick for you. If you need to put another divider ring on a turned spindle try this. Turn a ring then break it in 2. Then glue the pieces back together onto the spindle. Clamp tightly and wipe off the glue so that no one will be the wiser.

I know you're trying to learn but you could have just left the collar on the end you were joining instead of trying to make a collar to fit the spindle afterwards. Why did you turn it off and then have to make something to put back on? Guess I got lost.
