Sassafras is a wonderfully smelling tree! Watch me build a traditional shaving horse that will be used to make many more projects.

That looked like an enjoyable experience. The fragrance must’ve been fantastic. My Grandpa used to dig up the sassafras roots and taught us how to make tea with them which tasted and smelled like root beer. Great memory.

I've made one of these but I use some power tools especially for drilling. The only difference was I used some leather and some chain at the back of the angled board instead of making it stationary so you can adjust the height and angle of your working surface.

@@BecomeaWoodcraftingWizard I would've never guessed. Seems like if it's not perfectly symmetrical, that over time it would develop a wobble, and start falling apart. Just goes to show what happens when I assume things. I need one of these very soon. Looking forward to getting through all these surgeries, and healing, so I can get back to working on projects again. 😁

@@BecomeaWoodcraftingWizard Lead by example, right? My comment wasn't an attack -- I just know it will be a matter of time before you get hurt, and no one wishes that on you. I'm a diesel mechanic, and in my profession, skipping safety steps can get you killed, so that's where I'm coming from. Be safe, my friend.
