@@Polyfjordwait are we referring to the "X vs Y vs Z amount of resources" format? I mean.. That's.. Kind of an old thing. We did that as kids in high school in arts and music classes. I wouldn't call "giving yourself progressively more resources to see the outcome" necessarily anyone's specific format. I mean, the UK even did that with colonies :'D

I love that format. I especially like that it shows that modelling isn't as quick as one might think. It gives me motivation, because as a beginner modeller (I have experience with Blender, but not with modelling that much) everything seems just to be slow when modelling something with high quality (when you compare it to e.g. creating materials).

Whilst it looks incredible, I think walking balconies and an outdoor amphitheater are interesting choices for a spaceship. Imagine slipping off in low orbit and falling thousands of feet; in open space, you would potentially just float away. Also those jets would probably make some of those sections kind of toasty. Feels in many ways more like a hovering cruise ship than a true space faring vessel, but that's fine, still looks jaw-dropping.

This gives you an idea how much work is required in video games. It’s just not modeling. It’s modeling, illumination, animation, stage design, rendering and scripting. Yes these guys are overworked and underpaid. The level of sophistication requires a ton of architecture, animation, visual scripting, coding and a ton of knowledge in discrete geometry. The average work of animators are 1,000 hours for a true satisfactory result. This includes research, development and construction of tools for a particular result. These programs are getting deeper and more complex demanding constant education on the practitioner. Thank you so much illustrating the painful process of geometry modeling and animation.
