I'd love to see a hard-boiled ostrich egg, or the egg in vinegar experiment, although I don't know how long it would take to get through the shell.

I worked with polymer clay and made a filigree ostrich egg for my grandmother and it took a couple of weeks to dissolve the ostrich egg shell.

as an idea, could you try scaling up the "rubber egg" that you've done before, but with a range of larger eggs? Put every size egg from quail to ostrich in vinegar and see how long it takes for the shell to dissolve

I feel like Callie said in a video at one point that she does pastries as a side thing, I'd love to see pastries made with ostrich eggs! Maybe simple to complicated, like try a simple cupcake or cake recipe but also something more complicated like macarons or creme brulee that requires you to separate the eggs. I'd love to see if there's a difference chemically between chicken and ostrich yolk and white.

OK, here are some ideas for ostrich eggs: -make a giant egg carton -do the osmosis thing, but bigger -cast aluminum in an empty shell -use a shell as a crucible in the foundry -put an entire egg in the vacuum chamber

they would also need like a much stronger vinegar than just regular foodgrade one. In europe we have 23% vinegar, that you can use for cleaning, dunno what do they have over there

when calli was blowing the egg, it reminded me of when my family would make easter eggs. now i want to see a giant easter egg made from that blown out egg and know just how fragile it becomes without the yolk inside.

the shells are literally like ceramic. think like a nice teacup kind of durable. I've seen people use blown ostrich eggs for carving eggshell art pieces and the like

“Toad in the Hole” is sausages in Yorkshire Pudding. Which isn’t like American pudding, but like a savoury thick pancake batter cooked in an oven. Much more delicious than it sounds.

R A T nah a toad in the hole is a traditional dish over here in the uk, it’s a yorkshire pudding with sausages cooked into the middle, a Yorkshire pudding is kinda like a German pancake but savoury, fluffier on the inside, bigger, and crispier on the outside

I have always wanted to do a side-by-side of deviled quail eggs and deviled ostrich egg. Also I feel like Callie needs an emu egg since she was so happy about the ostrich egg. Not as huge as ostrich eggs, but also, the shell is dark green and it's awesome.

The way my brother and cousins “blew out” a few ostrich eggs was to drill and top and bottom hole. And use an air compressor to push the contents out and keep the shell whole. They are amazingly tough shells. It was great fun with kids and adults.

You mentioned a toad in the hole well I think that's a British dish where its actually made from a Yorkshire pudding (pancake batter) in a tray then put sausages in them before cooking. They're really tasty with gravy.

@@TAOEXPRESS It had to do with the pottery being of higher quality if it was coming from China. This is one of the things that made it a famous country. One could seriously doubt quality these days, but my grandparents have some decent quality china that they bought on a tourist trip to China almost 19 years ago. Perhaps they at least haven't lost THAT touch. I'm rambling and high, but you my point. Historically, Chinese pottery was superior. Hence the name.
