This is a full tutorial on the production process of my Song Thrushes, made from reclaimed cutlery and decorated with classic vintage flatware designs.
I made this video as a special request for the purchaser, a service I can provide in conjunction with any commission piece. This gorgeous little song thrush was made for Patricia by special request from Anton.
Made from:
3 dessert spoons, 1 soup spoon, 1 teaspoon, 6 patterned handles, 2 ball bearings, TIG filler rod.

Thanks that's really kind of you to say. I hope you are keeping well. Two more videos starting tomorrow ... car restoration not sculpting. Spoiler alert ... I bought a Land Rover ... which I found in a barn! Been doing it up so two in depth videos over the next two weeks about that. Just got back home 5 minutes ago from it's first MOT test in 2 years ... I'll leave it there and create a bit of suspense! Hope you enjoy the videos!

Cheers Simon, hope you are well mate. Yes give it a go!! Your 'Angel Birds' turned out lovely, you could do something similar to this I'm sure. Maybe fabricate a little jig as I did? Maybe not ... I just did that to make it easier creating multiples.

Are these full stainless steel because I would think that silver plated would grind off with the sanding. Very nice!!

Yeah stainless only. Can't really weld plated stuff, it gives off impurities in the weld like swiss cheese, very weak and ugly. No amount of finishing will fix it. Theoretically you could grind off the plate near the welded area before actually welding it but I think there would always be a disparity between the different surface finishes. It might polish up and look good initially but in short time I think you'd end up with visable 'joins'. Cheers for the nice comment, have a nice day.
