purchased a 10” bullnose blade had a hard time getting it to cut strait but after experimenting I tried doing it by first cutting a 45degree angel then changed blade to the bullnose blade and just followed the 45 and it did great

Alpha BN blades r really good and last a long time. I have one that I have had for years and still works great. I don’t actually cut the tile with it. I just use it for the BN. If u go slow and steady u can BN a piece in one pass. A couple years back I purchased a dry cut tile/marble/granite router bit for my variable speed angle grinder that is faster than the alpha blade and a fraction of the cost. Thx for the videos!!

I started using metal edging instead of bull nose. With all the cool profiles they have now , you can make your edges something special. I recently tiled a bathroom ceiling and I trimmed it with metal dental moulding. You guys should look into it.

My boss has the same setup. His wheel is a little different yours looks smooth his has big teeth on it but it is a bullnose wheel for a differwnt machine. We have never gone through the trouble of having the cut edge of tile match the grout line but if we have say a dark (say black) shower we will spray paint the edge of the tile. It works out fine bc at this point the tile is unglazed so the paint seeps into it and sticks great.

Has anyone tried those diamond router bits? I am looking into this for a project I am working on. So far I haven't found a local service that does this.

When you begin to run your tile through the blade you've got to physically grab the front of the tile by the blade on the Outer Edge of that tile and pull up to resist the natural Flex that it's putting on that tile as it's cutting disc round over and you'll have a much better round over cut as in result I'm in California I'm not sure where you're at look forward to hear from you God bless Ken

I bought a blade and haven’t had much luck with it. I’m still trying different techniques. Please do a follow up video.

I have one of those blades but I run multiple passes to get the rough bull nose. I never cut through tile and never do it in one pass. Then I polish the rough bullnose with a Makita 5 inch angle grinder and diamond (wet) polishing pads. You just dribble a little water on the tile from a can with a small hole in it as you grind. Wear rubber boots and use a gfci on the grinder. I bull nose the full tile pieces. Why do a 2 inch edge? Full tile bullnose is a custom cut that no one does but the best. Too, you can bull nose two edges to meet at a corner. Or you can do opposing sides. Or you can bull nose an inside corner cut. When I used to pay for it to be done the shop used to do it all by hand with a grinder and dizmond polishing blades. They start with coarse all the way down to 3,000 or 5,000 grit. I have done it that way as well, but unless you do it a lot it is hard to get a perfect round radius with diamond pads. No different than sanding a radius on wood with a power sander. I rough shape it with the diamond blade and then go through all the grits with the grinder to polish it and match the face finish.. Softer tile like travertine is a piece of cake. Doing it with a grinder alone is easy (if your can free hand a perfect radius and even if you can't, it will be close enough unless you do a really bad job.) Granite takes a lot of time to go through all the grits to get the scratches out to a smooth polished finish. I send that out and let them radius and polish out all the scratches from the coarser pads.

Good video for those who like bullnose. I prefer Schluter Stips (not necessarily Schluter product but that's what people know it by). Easier than making bullnose and more modern looking.

I have that blade and use it mostly on natural stone than polish them. If you think $300 is expensive well hold on when you understand the machine it’s designed for is around $8,000. It puts the blade horizontally so length is no problem. It’s brand is a Bulldog. Used commercially.

Why not miter to avoid having to use bullnose? I guess it would work for shower side walls, but then again there are so many profile trim edging options from Custom and Schluter. It seems like more money and labor than miter and/or trim edging profile. Still a great video! 👊

MK diamond products, item number 152617 is a 10 inch bullnose blade, FYI no 10 inch bullnose blade will work with the DeWalt wet saw, not enough room for the cover plate

You can make bullnose manually with a good blade, a grinder and polishing pads. I don't like using that blade with the wet saw because the blade runs off and ruins the cut, specially with long tiles.

BTW... hate how I have a tiny slide on my DeWalt... makes cutting 24" tiles damn near impossible. They crack and break all the freaking time. One day, on job soon, I'll throw this bad boy into the bid... that's expensive. How long do you think it would last?? 400Lft?

Theres many ways of FABRICATING BULLNOSE...I guess this your way...I only just sand paper on my sander 80, 120,220,320,400,600 grids...how long have you been setting tile for????

Why would you ever leave the blade running and run your material back through it in reverse? Run it through in the forward direction, stop the blade, remove your material, rinse repeat with next cut of tile. Even this type of saw can produce kickback, although less likely I have seen it happen multiple times as a blade becomes dull. Just asking for trouble here, to me.

i could see this for a natural stone or a throughbody tile...but on these tiles it’s just ugly. the “grout painting” is ugly as well.

I used those tiles on my laundry room floor, and was disappointed by the fragile, thin glaze. I need to more closely scrutinize the tile prior to purchase. Home Depot stuff.

Blade is too small for a 10” saw. Buy a 10” blade and slow down with the cuts. Ensure your saw table is dead level and square to the blade and you’ll get nice clean cuts. The process is better for natural stone . Wouldn’t waste the time and money on the porcelain.
