Making espresso with Gran Gaggia Style RI8423/11

The secret is to slow down the brew and keeping the volatile essential oil fresh in the freezer as ungrounded beans. 100% Arabica is acidic and only 50% of caffiene. Add some robusta for body and roundness. Blending is easy when it's just beans.
But even if you use grounds, blending it will give it new oumph and a nicer crema.
Nespresso packs 5g, Lavazza Mio 7g while this weighs in at 17g!
Using Brita filter kinda screwed my Gaggia Classic after 10 years. Now sticking to bottled water with the least dry residue using the new Gaggia Gran Gaggia Style RI8423/11.
Compact entry level machine that’s growing on me and nicely into the kitchen decor. The auto switch off is both an annoyance and a blessing for saving energy.

Some coffee experts will say that its a terrible machine and coffee, i dont give a shi…t , my brother made a coffee on this machine and it was so yummi. I am going to buy one 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

In the video, while the extraction, the right side is dripping inconsistently because it wasn't tampered the same as the left side. Other than that, good demonstration. I plan on buying this Espresso Machine. I have an Ariell 150BS, which was very cheap to buy (40€) and the coffees I make,no matter the brand, are very similar and very acidic just because the Arielli is a very budget machine. So, is the Gran Gaggia a good espresso machine ?

Yours looks like comparable machine at even better price. The Gran was a good value @£115 with some free coffee but the price has gone up almost 50% since I got it last year. I won’t expect much improvement over your setup but the machine itself has been consistent but not great. My daily cup varies depending on the grind that morning and can be acidic if too coarse and fast flowing. Since posting I have discovered many videos here (esp enjoyed James Hoffmann’s videos/tips) and have since revivied my “dead” Gaggia Classic somewhat and reduced the pressure from 13 to 10 bar. I find the espresso from Gran always more acidic than from the Gaggia Classic. Higher pressure perhaps or coarser grind from taller portabasket? Thanks for the tip, will try my best but I seldom manage even flow on both spouts.

i have this machine for 3 years, the portafilter its tragic but for 100 euros is ok

Agree. Too compact, flimsy and hard to get a good seal. I got it because the Gaggia Classic has doubled in price:( This is a third of the price. Fingers crossed. Only used it for 3 months and it’s giving good crema very consistently.

Thanks for watching:) I didn't do much research here and have since watched many more expert coffee videos. Just bear in mind this is the cheapest Gaggia with a £15 "violent" spice "smasher", in James' fancy terms.
