Everyone else: I miss Invader Zim! It was soooooo underrated! ChalkZone, El Tigre, the Xs, Catscratch, Danny Phantom, Teenage Robot, the Mighty B, and especially Making Fiends: Am I a joke to you? That’s not to say I don’t like Invader Zim. It’s a good show, but it’s hard to call it “underrated” nowadays when every 2000s Nicktoon that isn’t SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, Jimmy Neutron, or Avatar tends to get ignored.

Our daughter ran across this in 8th grade and quoted it all thru high school. She is 27 and still goes "teehee" whenever someone hiccups. My favorite interaction (which I quote occasionally)... Charlotte: (to Vendetta) "I want to do everything your going to do." Vendetta: "In that case, I was going to play in traffic and drink bleach."

I feel like vendetta is an underrated nickelodeon villain. She's my favorite of the show. I became a fan of this show since last year. It deserved better. I doubt nickelodeon ever wants to bring this back. I really don't see chalkzone, danny phantom, the x's, the mighty b, catscratch, el tigre, and back to the barnyard ever getting revived either. Such a shame.

I remember watching Making Fiends back in the early 2010's, most likely reruns on Nicktoons Network. And I thought Teenage Robot got mistreated the most by any network.

I think Nickelodeon should add more cartoons to save their reputation. They should give CatDog, Invader Zim, Jimmy Neutron, Barnyard and a few others including this one a second chance. And also add more animated series based on their movies, such as Rango. They could also merge Nicktoons with their main network. Do you agree?

I remember watching Making Fiends back when it use to be a bunch of online shorts on the nick website, so years later seeing that it got a tv show(despite being super short lived ) was pretty neat .

Fun Fact: Vendetta's name actually means vengeance. Vendetta is always bothered by Charlotte, so Vendetta takes REVENGE by trying to kill Charlotte.

Pissed. Off. I have some semblance of pride on remembering old and obscure cartoons but don't remember this one at all. How is that possible? Well, I never watched NickToons Network! So I literally had no idea this gem existed! The behind the scenes story is just so sad and to see NTN is still the Nickelodeon Graveyard says so very much. Mostly it says, "If you make a cartoon and Nickelodeon wants to pick it up from you, tell them to TAKE A LONG WALK OFF A SHORT PIER AT GOO LAGOON!"

Nickelodeon is clearly run by out of touch types that HATE the fact they run a children's network and not a hip teen network from the 90's. We COULD talk about the fact that they only care about Spongebob, but it's more of a case that they only care about that, their money making preschool toy commercial programming, and whatever "I saw a meme on the internet and lets make that a show 3 years later" crap they think tweens like. Usually their fuckin' horrible sitcoms, but they'll always greenlight some flimsy internet "celebrity" related trash and then jam that lame fad in everyone's face. Like Jojo Siwa and that kid that opens toys on youtube. Anytime they greenlight a cartoon series, you get 5 episodes in a once a week timeslot (or even just a singular week) and then a several month wait for 2 more, and then they dump it on Nicktoons because they clearly DON'T want to give anything an audience.

Putting it on the lesser channel and then removing it for not enough fans just sucks

They should have just moved the show to the TeenNick channel instead of canceling it

I loved Making Fiends it was one of my most favorite Nicktoons shows...but the fact that Nick didn’t even give the show promos or announcements and that they cancelled it after just 6 episodes that was just dirty And to just add insult to Injury, Amy can’t even continue her Making Fiends web series just because Nick now owns the rights to the show, So they can legally sue her if she continues the Making Fiends web series (where it stopped at a huge cliffhanger that we’ll never see the end result of) This shouldn’t have happened to her...Nickelodeon scammed her out of one of her most popular shows yet Nick doesn’t even care because now it’s their property so they can do whatever they want with it. If Nickelodeon did care they would give the rights back to her right after the series got cancelled so she can continue with her own Making Fiends series...but no, the entire Nickelodeon company had to be crooked as all hell...so the only thing that they decide to do to Amy is laugh at her, because they stole her most popular show and she can’t do jack shit about it because she’s the one who signed the contract...

Y'Know Nickelodeon has a pantheon of great shows they don't care about.

All classics, and I’ve seen, Know/ known, and loved/ love 4.5 out of 5 (I don’t really remember, if I watched the Xs or not as a 2000s kid, but the rest are classics in my 2000s eyes)

Thank you so much for talking about Making Fiends! I'm so glad to see it get a bit more attention amongst cartoon fans! The Nick version of Making Fiends was released when I was first starting middle school. I found the original web series because of the Nick show and fell in love with both of them (as well as the rest of Amy Winfrey's work, which I highly recommend watching)! Her creative art style and cheerfully dark sense of humor is fantastic, and the characters have such a great dynamic! You can tell that the crew really loved what they did. ^-^ Its production history is unbelievably tragic, though, and the story really needs to reach more people. Nick has unfortunately mistreated many a creator, but I feel that none have been as mistreated as Amy and her crew were. This show deserved so much better. 💔 I'm glad to find someone else that appreciates this show so much! Your review was very well articulated, and the dry humor was really funny...xD

i feel like if this was put on paramount plus as a "forgotten nicktoon too dark for tv" kinda like what nick did with crybaby lane, it would get attention from gen z and blow up in popularity

I was a tried and true Nickelodeon kid growing up and also an "everyday is Halloween" kind of kid, and I'll never forgive Nick for what they did to Amy Winfrey and Making Fiends.

I thought making things was a wonderful show in that school the network that cancel it may I just jealous of a perfect work of art even tours but Bob liking the big Box but you had this show and much longer episodes they could enjoy dead a lot longer it was perfect

I really wonder just why some of these Studios keep IPs, they have No plans on EVER using again. Especially when the revenue the creator might make off it, if they were to make it Indy, would be pennies compared to what they make with their bigger IPs

Very sobering. She never should have signed with Nick. Maybe Cartoon Network or Disney would have given her a better deal. You can actually have your contract state that if they don't do anything with it for X amount of years the rights revert back to you, but they may have been mean and had her sign away the rights indefinitely.
