Making GIANT Screw Taps | AKA Drillers Carrots🥕

A quick video showing the process of using the CNC lathe to machine "carrots". Basically a giant screw tap used by drillers for retrieving broken rods down the hole. A multi-stage process that involves both the lathe and mill, the end product is pretty much the biggest tap you'll see - they range from 70-170mm in diameter and get hardened once finished.

Nice work. It's early days for your channel so you've still got time to get a bit of commentary going like CEE does. An explanation of what these things are used for makes for a more engrossing video.

I was, planning to ask what CNC Controllers you run on these Lathes ?? But, after watching a little further into the video I see a FANUC Controller 👍 Enjoying your channel and looking forward to more.

Cheers brother. Yeah, we run Fanuc. It’s simple but super reliable. All the machines run the same OS, so easier to train new staff. Thanks for the feedback too. Much appreciated 👊
