Thank you. Someone in an area with a lot of dandelions should pick/dry and sell on eBay by the ounce or pound. The sellers currently on there are pretty high priced and out of the country.

I made dandelion jelly and even though it didn't set up completely, it makes great syrup for sweetening tea, or drizzling on pancakes, etc. 😀😀

Some recipes call for heating the dried flowers in the oil over low heat to infuse. What do you think would happen if you set it in the sun - like sun tea - to infuse with the warmth of the sun for a few days?

Most of these videos about collecting and drying Dandelions and other wild plants and herbs never talk about when the best seasons are to pick and why, or after drying them out what is the best way to store them, and for how long they will last...also, is there a better oil to use for each one, independently, to enhance the medicinal potency of that particular wild flower, wild plant or herb...or is it just a matter of personal preference.. .and what measurements of dried herb or flower to how much oil is best....also, once the infusion is made, how long will it last? And the reason I ask is, because I use these salves and oils for myself, ( I'm not in any business) I had a terrible accident many years ago where I was dragged under a train while working at the railroad and my whole body just hurts all the time from muscle and joint and nerve pain, after having a very major spinal surgery..the medications from the doctors do no good, but I have found that the natural infusions help the best..So I start in early spring and gather and dry, hoping to have enough saved up to keep me in oils and dried goods throughout the cold winter months, when my pain is at its highest...any info u can add to your videos would help a lot...Thank u

I certainly can understand your need for them . I would have to say depends on your own climate where you live on when to collect …my experience has been early to mid spring where I am is the most abundant time . I usually dehydrate mine at 125-130 degrees to get the dried then transfer to a mason jar with a sealed lid that can be done with your food saver or jar lid sealer . Reseal lid every-time you use some to retain freshness they will last longer I’ve had some up to a year but they usually get used up. As far as what oils are good to use or which have the best results is really your own preference. I like sweet almond oil , avocado oil, jojoba oil all are skin loving and absorb very well. You can always research others Shelf life depends on when the oil was made always go by that and you should be fine when making your infusion. I always use my own up within 6 mos- 1 year regardless. Hope this helps answer some of your questions. You may want to Ck out learningherbs.com a great source to start your journey of herbs. Stay well 👍💕

How do u clean them? Do u rinse them at all or do u even have to clean them??
@scentsbyemebathbody3161
@scentsbyemebathbody3161 3 жыл бұрын
You can lightly rinse them off after you let them sit for about 1/2 hour after picking to give time for the critters to get off them . Then lay on paper towel let air dry . 😊

Another Whosoever here. Question: After I picked my dandelion flowers and laid them out to dry, they all closed up? What did you do different that yours stayed open?
@scentsbyemebathbody3161
@scentsbyemebathbody3161 3 жыл бұрын
There is nothing different the size of the dandelion will determine how much it closes but the main thing is that they are good and dry before infusing them. 😊

No - oil and water don’t mix. You risk it going mouldy, why would you waste your time and money for a product that will go bad. Fresh for alcohol tinctures and dry for all oil infusions

I have been picking dandelions. I put them in a sink full of water, swish them around, strain, rinse again, swish, strain in a colander and then spin dry them in my salad spinner before drying them.
