Alleyways are notorious in England with being a bit sketchy, most people often expect to find people hanging out in them and a lot of people avoid them.
I wanted to go round my area clearing up these alleyways, so that I could lower even a fraction of somebodies anxiety that day when trying to get home or to work or wherever! :)

Nowhere in Western Europe is that bad in terms of uncontrollable and unpunished littering - Britain is genuinely a developing country by the cleanliness standard. Countries with comparable population like Germany and France are on a totally different level. Loads more respect towards their environment and nature… what a total depressing shame… you continue to be one of the last men standing against it and that leaves a speck of hope…

Some of do care. I dont litter pick on chili's level but used to often fill up 3 or 4 shopping bags when i walked the dogs in my local area - as its a rural area the councils here literally never clean up these rural areas and even when i report a road for a street clean its only done about half the time & not done properly! It is very sad what humans have become for the most part but like you say there are specks of hope but we are far the minority and thus the litter will continue to accumulate

When our bin men make a mess, I just go out and collect it, all of it, others items too. It all needs to be picked up regardless. But I have to say my road is good at keeping everything tidy. 👍👍👍

It's really amazing to have a decent human being like you walking this God-Given-Green Earth, voluntarily cleaning other people's trash, when you actually don't have to, since it's supposed to be our responsibility to keep our Earth Clean from everyday trash.

Sad to see so many people walk past with no hello or thank you. The one woman and 2 boys give hope. When litter picking I love to say hello, good morning etc, locals usually reply in kind , others are shocked and uncomfortable

Have been doing Whidbey Island roads that have deep ditches with water! Some vapes, many bottles and cans. Still cool weather. So many homeless encampments. Be safe out there.😊❤

You are an exceptional human being!!! I have stopped watching on fellow here in the states because he continually moans about the mess and berating those that do the dumping and littering. Those watching are well aware of the problem causing people….. what we watch for is to see the mess go to clean and how good that makes us feel. Your cheerfulness is a joy! You focus on the ferreting out of the stuff and for the most part, leave the anger at the dumpers to not overtake your joy in making things look beautiful again! Thanks for being you! I believe that the first fence is owned by the council, so homeowners and residents then put up their own fence for more privacy

Would seem that the city and town councils would mow and collect dead branches… prune back bushes where the UK canals are! Run vacuum cleaning street cleaners through the pathways to suck up leaves in the Fall. San Antonio USA in Texas had a filthy, polluted stream/river running through their city and they turned it into what is now their lovely River Walk!! They maintain their River Walk well… keep it as clean as is feasible and it is a great tourist draw for the city’s economic benefit!

It’s better than no litter being picked up and all left there. It definitely looks better than before and that’s how I see it. One man can only do so much by himself. And I thank him for caring about his community and all around there. 😁

I know just what you mean and know it wasn’t a criticism. I love the difference Chilli makes but the OCD in me wants people to fix and paint their fences and tend their gardens 🤭 So grateful for Chilli he has such patience and a lovely connection with everything and everyone around him.

Yup! Sadly though, the bush I found; I did make a video but accidentally recorded it in a weird mode, so the video had to be scrapped ;/ it hurt lol but I've moved on now! I talk about it in next weeks vid!

Yup! I had the Hero 8 all of 20 days before sending it back and lucked out when Gopro upgraded me to the 9 because they didn't stock the 8 anymore :D

It seems to me that certain areas with a high amount of litter should not have bushes or shrubs because it just turns into a trash can that's hard to clean.

Whomever the individuals are, who are peeing into bottles and dumping them in public places, could you kindly just empty out the bottles into a outdoor toilet, and then toss the bottles into the trash yourself. Don't leave them in a bag, for possibly a child to find. It's a hazardous waste and health hazard. In the city I live in Anchorage Alaska, just today, the parks and recs just closed down a homeless encampment, because they're going to the bathroom outside and leaving it. It's considered a health hazard. Shelter was offered by the city to all 20 individuals, who refused.
