Not a metal head, but I like seeing/hearing Renoise used for other genre's besides DnB and breakcore. I want to compose some Weather Report-style jazz tunes with Renoise.

You can make any style in renoise you want , I hear too many renoise users make dnb and and very static sounding music like its made with a computer from the year 1990 por something, but Renoise can do so much better. Ive made dubstep and Dnb also with it but its also great for house / goa / jazz / electro swing / synthwave etc. Ive tryed all kinds of Daw's (FL , cube etc) , at some day I found Renoise and stayed with it. Im not using the most recent version at the moment 2.8.0 , but that doesnt matter too much....there are so many great VST's and effects out now so the list is endless what you can do.

Don't forget - whenever you're doing something repetitive with the mouse, there's probably a shortcut. Example - if you look at the menu when you're re-enabling the effects, you'll see 'Enter" to the right of "reenable" - that's the keyboard shortcut. So you can just click once and hit enter, rather than right-click, move to mouse to navigate to the right item, and click again.

i've been using renoise for years making hiphop and lofi beats and i make band music with it quite a lot.. it seems difficult but in reality if you work hard enough you'll find ways of doing pretty much anything in this program when mixing i would suggest putting most of the things if not all of the things you play in or drums down in volume before you begin this will put it at somewhat of a normal level and will put you in green.. then you're free to eq things without them going into the red

Very cool. As you mention, I've not seen a whole lot of folks using Renoise for Metal. I used to ST style trackers in the old days to create metal tracks, so this is very cool! You're making me want to check out Renoise for some of my new music! Thanks for the vid!

Thanks for stopping by & checking out the vid. I would suggest getting it, especially if youre already used to the GUI with trackers. What I really like is that you can make songs very quickly. My attention span can be extremely short sometimes or I get bored, so it helps to be able to use a prog like this to get the maximum outta my time.

Yo Stanley. Can u describe what kind of pitch shifter did u use? When i down my samples by one octave it’s just slow down by x2 rate.

It can be done after recording by using say a wav editor or vst, but the best way is to use a hardware pitch shifter while recording the actual part. Takes a lot less time to do it that way.

The guitar was recorded in Soundforge to begin with, then the samples were loaded.

What i find annoying is that there's an over representation of electronica for trackers, despite the fact it is capable of so much more.
