I know right 😂 Hershey's is so artificial it hurts my teeth just thinking about it. I think Swedish chocolate is and should be up there with Belgian/Swiss imo. Either way, Marabou is quality, Hershey's is not.

Dumle is made by The company "Fazer" which is finnish. Fazer however, was merged with The swedish company "cloetta" for a while, therefore it's really popular here in Sweden. So I guess you could say that it's both.

A common mistake that people make when buying candy is that they put the salty licorice in the same bag as the other candy. That salt spreads on to EVERY non-licorice candy, basically ruining it. Always use two bags!

As a Swede this sort of thing doesn't stop being interesting to watch. My friend always tell me I was sort of "born in the wrong country", as I'm uncharacteristically Swedish. I'm very outgoing - more American in that way. But still - the Swede in me still made huffing sounds every now and then and laughed a bit at your reactions to the salty candy. Lots of "bah! and "hehe, weaklings." In that sense you two don't strike me as superduper American. Maybe I'm wrong? :'D Hahaha. Stefan, you're doing great with adapting to the culture and the language, and both you and your brother seem like great people to be around. If you ask me; Sweden could use some more Americans! Stefan - could you perhaps talk about the dating life in US VS Sweden? That's super interesting for me. Maybe bring in your brothers' opinion as well? For me; here, guys don't EVER walk up to you, just asking you out for example. Doesn't happen. (Note; NOBODY dares to walk up to anyone, really.) If something does, it's more douchy, and sometimes more harassing type of deal going on. No man will calmly walk up to a woman here and just friendly ask her out on a dinner or something. So, that'd be a really interesting subject! Thanks for your videos and keep it up!

No need to be rude. :) FYI, I do, actually. Problem is that it's not really socially acceptable or culturally "normal" - so most men tend to just look at you weirdly. It's just taken as a somewhat weird behavior here. *shrug*

Eliot Yames, as an old, but not yet fully grown up, woman I have asked myself that question many times. I can give you two reasons: Some seems to suffer from some kind of "Big Brother - Little Brother inferiority complex", trying to copy and adapt everything, why I don't know. Others just wish to be more losen up, less Swedish so to speak. More open and straight on, wich is exactly those things almost everybody say differences Swedes from Americans. We grow up with American TV series, both humor and action, and compare us with the characters on TV. This has been an ongoing process since John Wayne's days, haha! We have never had cool cowboys here, no Superman, nothing really like them. There is only one Swedish cool and a little bad cop I can think of, Mikael Persbrandt's character, police detective Gunvald Larsson in the movies about Martin Beck. But I have never overheard any kids having a discussion about Gunvald Larsson in the same way as Spiderman, Superman and other "heroes" In movies. It's a little lame comparison, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. So based on TV and movies Americans are COOL, and everybody, almost, want to be cool. However, reality and fiction are not the same, basically humans are humans and the cultures in the US and Sweden are basically very much alike. But you are generally more open, spontaneous and forward than us, being more silent and seemingly withdrawn, Swedes. Note seemingly. But you ACT so much cooler (In movies), thoug we are born in a country where "The Jante law" ruled for centuries. Rule number 1 is about "do not believe you are any better than anybody else." Those depressing words about us should shut the f--- up and mind nothing else than keep in line are memoriezed in our gene pool. We are working hard on getting that out of the system. Maybe with a little help from our friends on the other side of the puddle! 😃😃

Sweden is more gender neutral, it's not the males responsibility to take the first step here, it's equally the females responsibility. If you want to "date" someone you ask them to a fika (coffee & cookie), but again it's not the male that should pay or it, it's the person doing the inviting, that is responsible. Dating is however not considered a relationship in Sweden, so dating several people is fine, a monogamic relationship need s to be expressed and preferably strengthened by telling friends, that you are now a couple.

Should try some of the snacks next, like crisps, doodlez and what have you from the swedish brands. There are so many good flavours now, even the good old ones are really nice.

Djungelvrål is like Sweden, salty winter and then amazing sweet summer ;) Btw, I love hearing what american/english people think swedish words sound like. Like "sur patron" sounding like spanish haha :)

Many of Swedish men have craving for salt and most people likes licorice. Hence *Djungelvrål* being so popular in Sweden. It's one of those candys that's been around for ever, almost 3 decades now (1982). You don't munch down a whole bag at once but you take about 3-4 and put it away for a while til you get the feel for some more salt.

Hey Stefan! If you don't have anything going on in August this year I highly suggest that you go to Gotland and check out the medieval week in Visby. It's an amazing event and something you just have to experience if you live in Sweden!

I just landed in Stockholm yesterday. Is there a particular candy store you took your brother to that has all that variety to choose from? I have a big sweet tooth and would love to try some Swedish candy myself while I’m here visiting snd would love to also take some back home with me to Wisconsin! 🤗
