It’s always rewarding to see the progress of your own hard work. I envy the huge palette of space you have to garden & plant. I had the opposite experience with planting begonias in my garden. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do for 2023.

I just found you and had to subscribe. Your a natural in front of the camera. Love that your not out doing that work in a 3-5 hundred dollar dress and designer shoes,lol. I have seen women putter around and classify it as gardening/planting and they never get dirty. I always end up with dirt in my pores ,the creases in my neck, actually everywhere,lol. Looking forward to watching your channel grow.

Oh man! I think my feet are permanently stained with dirt. 😳🤣 at least I have socks and shoes on here. Usually I wear flip flops. Yes I’m always dirty, so I try to stay comfortable. LOL

Looks great! You are so creative in stretching your dollars and plants. Some expenses are a necessary evil, especially since inflation and the supply and demand issues have surfaced.

@jesthesinginggardener2 жыл бұрын
Oh I’m so glad! Yes it’s intimidating but not too hard. Hardest part is when you hammer the stake into a rock in the ground and you have to stop and dig the rock out first LOL! Other than that and the price, it’s not too bad!

New subscriber from Illinois 5a! You’re my kind of gardener as I love to see the potential in clearance plants and I’m even happier when those thrive. But where do you get such amazing deals, especially in the height of planting season?
@jesthesinginggardener2 жыл бұрын
home depot, there are a couple near my house that clearance plants like right before the weekend and i always get em then!!

Thanks for the video! I wonder if you have heard of Jack Barnwell I think you would find his landscape channel interesting We live in Michigan and I have been going to Mackinac Island for more than 50 years. Gardens up there are sick! Good luck with your channel
@jesthesinginggardener2 жыл бұрын
ummm, i love Jack Barnwell. Last year we went to the Island, we were walking down the street from the Grand Hotel and I told my husband my goal is to find Jack Barnwell and ask him to sign my book...Im not kidding like 5 seconds later i looked up and there he was on his bicycled and I freak out and froze up i just waved and he waved back and drove away. LOL so at least i seen him.

hi Jes ! gras around home are you planting or by natural ?
@salpanettieri31152 жыл бұрын
Hi Jes, I’m new to your channel. What state are you in and what is your zone? Why didn’t you amend your soil? And why didn’t you add a drip irrigation system or soaker hose to this? But I truly enjoyed watching your design and hard work. Thanks for sharing!!👍👍⭐️⭐️
@jesthesinginggardener2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking, I guess I should say that! I'm in Michigan zone 4/5. To be honest I have never amended my soil, whatever I plant just seems to do really well as we have been bless with awesome soil. I do use Bio tone fertilizer on most everything at first and add a little compost to the roses I've planted but that's about it! I did put drip tubing in beds around my house, But my Island bed and the rest of them I just let our underground sprinkling take care of and its does just fine. I water everything in really good the first year and then just let good Lord and the sprinkling take it from there :) Thanks for the questions! and for watching! Its so fun to talk about gardening!

Well done, very nice work you have done. We installed this same metal edging 6 years ago and it was worth the effort. Will look forward to more of your videos, I just hit the subscribe button.
@jesthesinginggardener2 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness, thank you so much!! Metal edging is an investment but a worthy one for sure!
@grammardad Жыл бұрын
But do you really need the edging? I Personally feel the look is cleaner if you forgo the edging and accept the task of regularly maintaining the definition between the turf and planting bed. Moreover, I do not feel that any physical edging I’ve tried has added much in the way of function/value.
@jesthesinginggardener Жыл бұрын
For sure!! I agree there are areas where i don't do edging and i love the look. I do both :)
@janetneo42722 жыл бұрын

First you have small island bed, then you extend to have bigger place to grow plants. In next few years your garden will have less grass and more garden beds and flowers. Trust me. My all garden I am building from all of my old also saved sticks, vertical blinds pelmets, cotton roads , you name it. Everything is used and look great =)
