Making my K-Swap Civic Faster

You last saw my K24 Swapped Civic at Gingerman Raceway for it's first time attack event. We learned a lot from that event and made improvements to the car to make it even faster. It did much better at it's second event as you'll see in this video and we'll continue prepping the car for the next event! We're making the car faster between every. single. event.

I too think they looked better for the Civic, but if the 17s make it go faster, I suppose they're more suited for the car's track duties... One part of me is kinda sad, and another is just ok, since they're only huge for functional purposes...

All the wide 15" stuff is usually miata bolt pattern. Have to go to 17's to get anything wider than an 8 in a 5 lug

I really like the look and "feel" of your videos. You're totally not running the same setup that I was in the early 00's with my EK, but a rear sway bar made the car much more suited for my driving style. I was coming from a Suzuki Swift GTi, which I was able to drive with the throttle much more efficiently than the EK, and adding a rear sway bar mostly fixed that. So, if you can't do that and it's what you're after, go for it. Otherwise, don't.

I can;t actually see your reply in the comments just in my notifications..but thanks for it....I have a "94 gti and I love it..had it about 9 mounths now..its a daily and I do quite a bit of country kms a day..tranny is still fine unlike my old cino..2nd gear was non exsistant coming down:)..I dont race but want to keep it good..its in pretty good shape and stockish..I would be extremely interested in knowing your gti tips and tricks..cheers Australia:)

@@cakeofthepan2233 Weird... Might be an application bug. Anyway, I learned a lot driving and modifying that car, on and off track. Power wise, if you can find a Bullfrog Racing head-cams-ECM kit, that will allow you to rev to 9k and make about 20% more power. Also, getting a Genie headers and Cat-Back exhaust would give you more durability, a bit more power and a much nicer sound. Suspension was tricky. The stock one was good. But adding Jackson Racing braces made the chassis more predictable on the track. I used Koni inserts, for shocks (class restricted) with Eibach made springs sold by Jackson Racing. And Poly bushings. I don't thing any of these exists anymore. There's one team racing one of these, K swapped. You can find some videos of the car on YT. Hope you'll have as much fun as I did with mine!

@@brainiac9579 Mate!..thanks so much for the reply...I've seen the K swapped..but little on the G13B...apart from them being swapped into other things..(Sierra's or Carterham style home mades! ) otherwise its all in Hungarian or various South American...and I don't understand the language ..bummer. Spent a fair bit of time getting it up to usable..oil was coming out in a few places.cam seals etc..and into the dizzy cap!..rebuilt....but thats sorted now..its definatley had cam work done..it burbbles and pops down the gears through the exhaust which makes you feel like you are driving the weapon you are NOT;)..haha..but she is super fun through the bends and I enjoy the feeling of seat of your pants even driving at a modest speed..you know what I mean?

@@bobbyrios2k223 Not sure how much Ben paid, but a set of Michelin PS Cup 2 (245/20 front, 305/20 rear) that came with Michelin Connect (bluetooth tire temp) set me back $2150 out the door. I got about ~9000 miles out of them. Of course, smaller tires will be cheaper. Hope it helps.

Nothing makes me happier than when someone whos building a car as aesthetically as possible goes to the track and realizes how much more they love performance than looks. You can get the best of both worlds, but when performance takes priority it just warms my heart.

Great episode. I feel ya on that "1st lap spin" I was doing a test n Tune event locally onna rainy day and spun my out lap..... Lolol had to laugh it off and keep pushing. Loving this series. I really hope to be able to push for a time attack series when I finish my DC4
