Great idea with the magnets. You can also superglue a 12 inch piece of dental floss to the magnet, and then crimp a small lead split shot weight to the end of the floss. It ends up acting like a short plumb bob.

It's easy to get hung up on tool storage. You've got the solution pegged.

The Louvre, the Met, the Vatican….. I’ve never been to any of them, but I did walk into the original Wood by Wright shop and I’m afraid those other places wouldn’t measure up.

For years, I had a clamp rack sort of like yours. I found that if the clamps got accidentally put in with a slight overlap - easy to do with pipe clamps - I would get a shower of clamps. I have been told I have a hard head, but those clamps hurt! I also found it took up too much wall space, so I went to a holders with a pair o parallel arms to slide the clamps between. No more falling clamps and I put over 100 clamps in a 3 foot by 4 foot space. Yes, it is possible to have too many clamps, but I keep buying more when I get a good deal.

If you have clamps falling off you could add a slight back bevel to the top of the rack and apply some stair tread grip tape or sand paper to the top.

When I worked as one of the woodworkers at Conner Prairie, I got used to having the chisels and jointery saws in a little cabinet with the bigger saws in the same sort of rack yours are in. I liked that set up, but that's really the extent of how I liked organization

I've seen enough from Adam Savage to know the best plans wind up changed completely after a few months' use. It's looking good, though! The peg for the saws makes me a bit anxious, but that's because I would walk into it, probably on a daily basis 😅

Love the NASA capsule tent in the one shot..... I did make a bunch of dowel hanger up things for my house and shop. I did make a bunch of wood spheres for the ends of them, mostly for the coat rack in my pantry room. I did angle all of them up a bit so things wouldn't wander off the ends. Only change I would make on what you have done here.

Great video. Thanks! For my clamp holder, I made a rabbet on the top back side so all of the pipe clamps with feet (Bessey) had a place to sit. I've never had one fall off.

The challenge you have that I do not is your tool storage is not just functional but must also be a display of sorts. A backdrop to your videos.

My clamp rack isn't much fancier than yours. I stick them on a stud, although it's turned perpendicular to the wall and has some stand offs so there is a little more room for the clamp heads to just fall over the top of the stud.

Just be careful you don't poke an eye out reaching for something near your bow saws! There's a fair amount of reverb. If you haven't already thought about sound baffling, you might want to consider it.

I do not want to magnetize the sharp objects as they will attract other metal objects and possibly dull them. I may be over thinking it though.
