legacyofbob Thank you Bob! I used guanacaste (elephant ear tree wood) and 6mm plywood! Wax finish is beeswax with baby oil (mineral) and almond oil mixture :) I have a video where I make red wax but it's the same idea.

Great project Andrea, you are doing great job with the jigsaw! What kind of wood did you use for the fish bone? I just found a board in my cellar which has similar figure to that (I also saw that in your table saw structure where the switch is). It is pretty heavy, nice lumber but I just couldn't identify.
@AndreaArzensek
@AndreaArzensek 9 жыл бұрын
Thank you Tamas! I used guanacaste wood (elephant ear tree) and in the middle I glued 6mm pine plywood to reinforce the bones of the fish. That's correct, good eye, there is also guanacaste in the table structure. Here is a quick read on guanacaste and a photo: www.rochdalespears.com/blog/2012/04/26/guanacaste-wood-for-the-bina-furniture-line/ For what I know working with it: - it's light weight wood - soft (dents quite easily) - works and glues very good - irritates respiratory system when sawing/sanding (causes sneezing and nose running) - rot and insect resistant (very high) - I used sawdust to get rid of ants - creamy sapwood with dark and beautifully grained heartwood

@SteveFrenchWoodNStuff

I didn't even noticed the cordless part. Nice! Yours is a lot nicer than mine. I still use the old Craftsman scrolling jig saw that my mom bought for me when I was 16 or 17 (I'm 41 now). Mine still works fine but it's not exactly the best in the world. I'd love to get one of the latest Festool jigsaws.
@AndreaArzensek
@AndreaArzensek 9 жыл бұрын
Steve French Old tools were better, at least they say. But I'm very happy with this saw. I would also like to have a scrollsaw, but maybe when I have a place to store it. Festool look like the best on market, then you will be Batman like woodworker :)
@SteveFrenchWoodNStuff
@SteveFrenchWoodNStuff 9 жыл бұрын
Andrea Arzensek In many cases, the old tools were better. But jig saw technology has come a long way over the past 20-something years. I'd imagine pretty much any decent modern one is better than the one I have. I'd love one of the Festools, but I can't justify spending that kind of money on a jig saw. They sure are nice though.
