Eh, I think Jim's niche is this Riddler. Goofy, flamboyant, but deceptively dangerous. With the Joker, there is no deception, he IS dangerous and looks the part. Even though the Joker is bright and colorful, everything he does is drenched in a dark flavor and twisted, demented notions. The Riddler is maniacal, intelligent and deceptive, while also having a bit of goofiness inserted. Jim is a lot better at putting up a guise of harmlessness, which the Riddler is known better for. Not a straight up psychopathic criminal like the Joker, but a plotter and a big-picture guy.

After watching the video I was going to say the exact same thing.

The Riddler is just the Joker's younger brother. They are too similar really to be esp. distinguishable. The Joker isn't supposed to be a beefcake, or a super lean, physically very tough character, that's just a post-Nicholson kind of thing. Both the Riddler and the Joker laugh a lot, they have the evil smiles, they are schemers, the thin/gaunt look, more or less (we can forgive Nicholson's slight chub and slightly stockier build), the love of embarrassing good characters, making them look foolish, messing with their minds, all this stuff. The Riddle has a "nerdier", very high IQ bent, compared to the Joker's emotionally predatory, bullyish, assholish, nightmarish thing about him, killing with no remorse, etc., big deal... They are both jesters and clowns, laughing at us, deserving a beat down every second of every day. They are COMPLETELY different than Two Face Harvey Dent, Mr. Freeze, Bane, etc. Catwoman is just sexy/acrobatic and mysterious... The Penguin is truly unique... Stocky but short, similar to the Riddler and the Joker in certain respects, but obviously more hot tempered/prone to fits of rage, also more "sincerity" to him, like the Riddler in certain aspects, Mr. Freeze, or Bane... The Joker of course being the most vile/evil of the bunch. Perhaps Ra's al Ghul is more kinda like the Joker, regarding his disdain for humanity/capacity to destroy, albeit from a very different position... The Riddler is more interested in information, the Joker chaos, Ra's is more interested in being a "check" in regard to the endless extent to which a society might acquire wealth, decadence, corruption, etc., the Penguin is interested in power, fame, acceptance, money, etc., Mr. Freeze is just "bitter", something about his deceased wife, Poison Ivy is kinda like a female version of the Riddler, Harley Quinn the female version of the Joker, Bane is a big, SMART brute, Two Face is kinda like the Darth Vader of the bunch, Catwoman is the sexy, mysterious one, and all the other guys, I dunno. The Joker is still the worst of them, but Bane is the physically scary, truly physically threatening one... Still, he's not quite the villain that the Joker is...
