Scott Bartlett made this documentary in 1980 of a recreation of OffOn that he realized with a class he was teaching at UCLA at the time. not just a documentary but a wonderful film in its own right.

It was I who created this film-portrait of Scott Bartlett, combining his vintage film loops with an audio interview that I did with him. Scott was the executive producer. Delighted that people like the Brian Eno cover of "Tomorrow Never Knows" with the Summer of Love footage. Cheers, Cynthia.

I don't know if anyone else ever gets this, but I just feel something as if almost vibrating inside of me when an artist talks about their craft and how they work. It's apparent for me with this clip that Soctt Bartlett is extremely dedicated to his passion and is a professional. Thanks so much for sharing this.

It's probably my favorite experimental film of the Era. Brilliant, especially for It's time.

Of course! I wish that CrystalSculpture3 would give me the directing credit. I also selected all of the music.

A great document of the era from the late 1960's moving forward into 1980. Independent cinema art began its transformative change in 1980 when the Reagan fiscal budget destroyed support of innovative public broadcast by about 1983. Serious Business Co. (that was run by Scott's former wife Freud) was the top distributor of independent cinema art through the entire 1970's into early 1980's. Public television exhibition rights was the number one income source that made it happen. Reagan declared that money for public broadcasting would take a conservative established mode, no more experimentation. This important era of financial support for experimental cinema came to an end. Scott continued with every means possible to make an inroad into large scale cinema production. It is great beyond comprehension that he and UCLA made this document to preserve an era of vibrant creative force in independent cinema!

Hi Sky, Beautiful letter! Thank you for the insight & the passion. You put this document-movie of Scott's into context that gives it a perspective that is eye-opening & revelatory! It's a Beautifully Made & Entertaining Behind-The-Scenes Movie that I've enjoyed watching several times. Scott was a special talent & human being & wish he & his lovely & accomplished wife, Freude, had lived longer & were still with us today!!!
