ABOUT KIM'S CONVENIENCE:
"Kim's Convenience" depicts a Korean Canadian Kim family that runs a convenience store in the Moss Park neighbourhood of Toronto: parents "Appa" (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and "Umma" (Jean Yoon) - Korean for dad and mom, respectively - along with their daughter Janet (Andrea Bang) and estranged son Jung (Simu Liu). Other characters include Jung's friend and coworker Kimchee (Andrew Phung) and his manager Shannon (Nicole Power). The series is based on Ins Choi's 2011 play of the same name. Mr. and Mrs. Kim have worked hard to give their now-twenty-something children, Janet and Jung, a better life in Canada. This comedy finds laughter in the trials of running a literal 'Mom and Pop' shop while raising kids in a culture not quite your own.

@lily x They canceled it outta the blue (I think some major creators left), which means we will never see Appa and Jung recover their relationship.

This is heartbreaking to watch. To see how they were all together and had a 'you can't stop us' attitude is so amazing but it's also heartbreaking to know that behind the scenes the creators weren't with them and were planning to end the show. This is a wonderful show with an amazing cast. I'm glad for the time we got but I wish there was more.

It's so hard to say goodbye... I really wanted to see how Mrs Kim was going to battle her M.S. It would have been great to see how Mr Kim & Jung were going to finally get over their past and move on to have a better relationship. I think these two were the things I wanted to see the most. I'm guessing Janet and Gerald missed their opportunity to be a thing. Best of luck to all the cast in crew for your future endeavours 💙 Zee you

It's not a question of a network willing to pay for it. The creators/showrunners don't want to do it anymore. They own the show, write it, produce it. And they're the ones that decided to quit making it. They even have an order for a 6th season that they're probably gonna bail on. I don't know why they don't just sell the rights or hire new writers and just step back from production to keep the show going, but they'd rather just end it because they "want to do other things".

I'm form the UK and me and my wife started watching earlier this year absolutely fell in love with the show even got some friends into it and loving it to! Fantastic show can't wait for season 5

This show was really the first and maybe the only show to kind of portraited a real family dealing with everyday issues everyday situations the way that in a family maybe not everything is perfect but still you take it a day at the time and make it work...

Totally loved this show on Netflix. I am a Canadaphile. Havent been to GTA since Covid. Love being there. I so wish there were more seasons. In a few years, am going to start again at season one.

Hello Kim’s Convenient, I’m from the Philippines and I thank Netflix for bringging this show to us but it break my heart knowing that it will not comeback. Still praying that is is just a fluke that sometime this year it will imerge.

Thank you for yet more moments to savor and cherish as we get closer to the series end. Kind of ironic that Kim's cast and crew have made what appears to be their strongest season ever in the midst of the toughest moment in global history........and the news of the end coming midway through that strong season. Definitely the 'little Canadian Show that could!!'....and has come to be much more!!!

I can't think of a worse time to cancel this show. Not only does it provide comfort and lightheartedness during an extreme time of isolation and stress in the world, but it is one of very few shows in Western media that is centered around Asian characters. There is so much hate right now in the world against Asians rn due to this pandemic, and this show provides the opportunity to tell Asian stories as people who are very much human and an integral part of society!

I just don't understand...why cancel now? So weird. I have a feeling Netflix will pick up production of this show and the creators already kind of knew and wanted bigger pay checks. Just watch. It'll be back. Netflix will buy it. I'm really hoping.

One of my favorite show and it’s canceled :( how could you? Why? I can’t believe no more Kim’s Convenience. I love the cast and the show. Why cancel the show because it’s not American so racist production.
