Two special cooking's of our sorghum molasses. Fellowship with neighbors is the best thing accomplished. Always learning and teaching something new.

Thank you. I just might try growing and making it next year. It soothes my heart to see so many women wearing dresses. I live in a 1910 bungalow that was my Gma's home on a 1/2 acre but it's in the city limits of a very large city (although it's a very quiet neighborhood) and being a practicing Christian woman in my dresses makes everyone treat me like I'm an ignorant nut job. Love from Boise, Idaho. Edit:. Never mind. I just priced a sorghum press and that's never gonna happen on my budget. 😁

Don't give up. Not many people who grow it have their own mill. Start looking for someone that grows it and borrow one. That's what we did for years. Don't worry about what others think. We are just here to please the Father. You do you and live in joy. Look out this winter. Making me a new wardrobe, which is 3 or 4 dress, and they are going to be so out dated that they will think I fell off the Mayflower, lol. Blessings

Wish NC was still as good as it used to, way too much going around. At least tone down the shootings and alcoholism.

Do you do crop rotation? What are the crops you rotate planting with the sorghum plants?

What do you do with the pressed sorghum stocks? Do you compse them, burn them, throw them back to the soil, feed the animals?

Did they used to feed the leaves to the animals or were there other uses?

Some to the animals but most goes back to the ground. Blessings

It looks like you’ve made some improvements since last year. Unless you’re against it, I’ve watched them cut it by just walking down the rows with a chainsaw. Just Sayin ! Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸

We probably would if we grew a lot, but this not just for us it is for the community. So what we did this year is buy two more cane knives to let other people try. Thank neighbor from Florida! Blessings
