To me (a coder begginer), you are a master on this, i wouldn't had been even able to DREAM about pulling out something like this in my life. I'm impressed.

Dont ye dare, that stuff doesn't deserve it. /tg/'n'/vg/ forever! (Sorry if i hurt your feelings, i just realy want to see those on /tg/)

@@dr.crawler6933 Eh I don't play fucking ss13 anymore. Bee code is definitely better than tg code buddy, even if their playerbase is kinda fucking kek.
@dr.crawler69333 жыл бұрын
@@Coolsurf6 Yes, it is certainly more flexible, but it lacks... how can i put it in a way that wont affend anyone..? Better... code? I just dunno, the difference is just in the facts that tg is more stable, but it cant take as many new features as in the bee without someone re-working on the whole thing.

Me after reading this after i ported this to beecode months ago remembering the screams in ooc and discord then someone asked for crates to and i was dumb enough to actually make it as i initially did not realize how much i had to do that adapt the code for crates first splitting crate sprites remaking some of them entirely then using a shitty version of a coordinate system realize its shitty try to remake it do that but yay the new coordinate system is to math intensive so byond can‘t keep up make a assoc list for crates with values find a small icon glitch that happens when the crate opens/closes messing things up fix it and now realize that you went to far with the angle of the crate so it loops back oops well thats hopefully the last thing i gotta fix for this
@mnarath83763 жыл бұрын
I can totally understand why you did not try to animate the crates too oh my god i spend the last 6 hours splitting the crate sprites up into the base sprite and then the open and close state using gimp

Wait, so a locker door is just like one of those small sprites that indicate if a Decontamination Chamber has a suit in it, in terms of code?

0:58 the standard solution is UV mapping, you almost reach this conclusion at 8:33, but the inverse/explicit approach is very overcomplex. but idk if byond supports UV mapping, and the idea of recolorable sprites and shader support would def be a major-version overhaul the equations are being prioritized over appearance, especially with neglecting perspective, results in programmer-art. i always found the original 2-frame animation to be satisfying with how snappy and responsive it is, especially with how it matches the sound with your diff of 80 lines, my take exactly matches the first PR comment "Not bad."

Is there any difference to the crates in how the closed and open state is handled?

I don't quite understand what you did with the RG image. I understand that you used it to match the position of pixels after the transform was applied to before, but why? Could you not have Simply used GIMP to apply your transform in reverse?

The translation isn't affine from the original open states, meeting that some data is lost because it's being squashed.
