Not to be contrary. If you've ever been to a Subway sandwich place and watch a worker handle food with foodservice gloves on, they tend to touch the knives, rags, countertops, anything, with the gloves on, and it makes it useless. In my 20+ years of foodservice, I find that gloves tend to give the cook a false sense of sanitation and they end up with unsanitary practices with the gloves on. Having no gloves keeps a foodservice worker more aware of sanitary practices. Go to Subway and watch them...Yuck.

Bobby Sy Go, hear hear, the same with chipotle. I've seen them wiping the prep areas with brown wet cloth, grabbed a brush swept the floor and came back served the customer with the same gloves intact. Replaced the tray on the chafing station with water dripping onto other trays full of salads and cooked food. Freaking nasty stuff. I am never going back ever. Then they kept having nasty ecoli outbreaks. Great!

▪ What if they just bop their baloney with gloves on while they are in the CR ?

When you're bad with hand hygiene practices, gloves or no-gloves, it makes zero difference. If people aren't mindful then they're going to break rules regardless of whether they're gloved or not. But there's zero doubt, ZERO that all things being equal, gloves will be more sanitary. I work in the medical profession and I guarantee that it's more sanitary if you use a glove.

@@Sometimes_Always NO it's not. I've worked both as a nurse and in the cooking industry. It's called CROSS contamination. I've seen people use gloves to go to the restroom, then go back to the kitchen and not change out the gloves and you obviously didn't read the comments here. You can NOT touch dirty items, then expect your gloves to be clean if you failed to WASH them, then make a sandwich. You can't go sweeping a sidewalk of homeless poop then go make a sandwich and expect that sandwich to be pristine and sanitary...it's not. A broom isn't sanitary, or the pan that captured the pooh. It's obvious you failed communicable disease classes, proper handwashing techniques or understand what cross contamination is. I've seen people sneeze INTO their gloves and cover mouth with them then make food. People in the cooking industry take mandatory classes but they obviously don't care to practice what they've learned, so they protect THEMSELVES by wearing those gloves, but not protecting the actual food eaten because they CROSS contaminate. Americans just don't understand what CROSS contamination is and refuse to digest it even when they hear or read it.

@@Sometimes_Always yes and no. The issue of cross contamination remains whether gloved or ungloved.

Yes most food is made with hands

Exactly. More than half of the process is automated. It’s hand-shaped, not hand made.

Weird, I have never seen an apple fritter that looks like that. Every single one I have had was all bumpy and organically shaped... I guess that's just how they are in the Pacific Northwest? lol Also, is that yeast dough? Ours are made using baking powder, as far as I know... I could be wrong about that...

Same. I've seen people use biscuit cutters to make them round. I prefer the bumpy cragginess, like to pick off little nuggets of crust.

Finished product shouldnt' be touched by hands.. That's disgusting.. People are sweating, shedding both hair and skin, not to mention anything that's underneath his fingernail. I work in the medical profession and it's fkin ghastly to see this guy grab finished donuts and glaze them. He's literally drenched in sweat. Nasty.

Then if he wore the gloves, he'd wear them in the restroom to take a dump and not change the gloves out, not wash them...because that's what people do. Also, state health departments insist on a pail of disinfectant, and proper handwashings, so he apparently DID wash his hands and keeps nails short.
