I love how humble all of you guys seem to be. Everyone going that extra mile just to help the production, this is suppose to be something we love doing, right? Watching Justin direct actors just open my eyes and gave me an almost "duh" moment but you really have to understand the characters, what you want and a respect for those actors to make it happen. He makes it all relatable for them to draw from an example that's familiar to most of us. Great job! ...and thx

Good work Justin and everyone else, but I have to say after so many years watching Film Riot (since the begining) Josh is a genius, his acting grew up as much as he did. He can say nothing and make me laugh anyway.

What I had hoped to learn by watching this video isn’t what I walked away with. Instead, what I walked away with was a life lesson from Justin. Listening to his perspective on a persons breaking point, that it isn’t the argument, it’s the 3 red lights, the dirty look that sends someone over is so well said. I would absolutely love to listen to the rest of that interview if available! He’s got a new fan and I will be first in line for when his book releases! Thanks for putting this together Film Riot! I love this! It’s 6:30am. I woke to this notification and became inspired! Thank you Ryan for putting this together.

I'm very envious of you guys. I got into video late in life (my forties) and don't have a network of people to pull from. My one experience, shooting , editing, lighting, audio .... for a documentary with reenactment scenes, was a cluster.... with the "director" being a an actual conman (prison for fraud and then again for extortion) who tried to extort money out of me at the end. In the end he was telling to download KZfaq clips from various channels to use (without license) even after I brought up not only the legal challenges of getting this onto the film festival circuit without releases and licences but also from a technical point of view : footage shot on film, captured, uploaded to youtube, downloaded re-uploaded to you tube and then downloaded by him and inserted into his film ... same with music. Just ripped from a website, refusing to understand that while the classical composition was no longer protected by copyright, the specific performance was still under copyright protection... (and again, audio quality standards for broadcast). My one big project was a complete clusterf... Then I look at the beautiful work you guys do. I owe all my film making knowledge to you guys (started following you guys back in the days of Teleportation Tourets). thanks to you I have done around 20 short commercials (mostly talking head type videos) for small businesses for web and a couple of simple music video. Looking at your work, I wish I could be better and do more. Sorry for the tone ... I think being locked up in my home for the past 3 months is driving me a little crazy.

Hey Film Riot, Can you do a DIY on how to create a LED screen/virtual set like they used in the Mandalorian show ? I am very fascinated in how they made such a cool setup . I assume its super costly?

Hey, Ryan! Love hearing these insights into a filmmaker's journey and I'm surprised there aren't that many series like these, because I find them more valuable than any masterclass or uni course. We've released our film last year and I took the time to put together a similar series, but commenting on the process, after everything was said and done.
