Making Winding Sticks | Woodworking with Hand Tools

Due to my computer issue, I had to find a small project that I can finish quickly. Then I chose this winding sticks project as one of my friends here suggested to me a while ago. It was such a fun project but I will still need minor adjustments.
Anyways, I hope these sticks will last long! Oh and project suggestions are always welcome!

Thank you! I think my effort to handle this tough guy paid off:) but I'll stay away with any lumber that's as hard as this purple heart, haha.

Even though you don't like the purpleheart it really revealed the unleveled board you used. I have seen others use these and couldn't see the purpose, but your colored wood made it very clear. Thanks.

Thank you as always:) I didn't even think I needed the inlays but in reality, they surely make the difference. The board I used for the demonstration was super twisted so it was clear but when using on an almost flat board, even with the inlays, it's still difficult to tell.

Do you have any references for the Japanese version? I didnt know there was one and I'm curois about the differences.

Awesome project, as always! Think I saw a very nice japanese chisel do you have any tips on how to set them up?

Thank you as always:) Well, I was going to share how I've set up my chisels but then, I've read a Japanese Highschool student accidentally stabbed his own leg during the setup process last year and he was... With a correct knowledge, it's a safe process but I'm only with 1 year experience with Japanese chisels so I decided not to share it for now. The thing I know is, they usually do not point the chisel edge anywhere inside of the body like you may have seen they use a chisel next to their outer thigh, but never in between the legs. It's because the inner thigh has artery and once you cut it, it's critical. Anyways, sorry that I can't give you advice for this...
