Fabulous. I do on occasion use my Embroidery setting on one of my sewing machines to put on a label the baby name and date or the newlyweds names and date. I will now add this to my repertoire of labels. Making a sample today! Thank you!

Sister Short Hair ! ! What a cute, cute way to make a quilt label! I tend to panic a bit putting a freezer paper fused fabric label thru my printer. It jammed once and what a mess. The customization you can do with so many cute stamps is endless, my mind is racing ! ! Will be using this idea for sure. Hand sewing on your label is such a personal touch to a finished project. Great video ! ((hugs))

Great video, Lisa. Thank you. I will have to get some of those markers. I know that by the time I’ve hand sewn the binding on my quilt, the thought of then hand sewing all four sides of my label is, well......So, before I hand sew my binding, I focus on my label. I follow your steps until sewing the decorated label to its backing. I only sew two sides together, the top and right side. Then I trim the top and right side at 1/4” and the other two at about 1/2”. Turn it right side out and press. I pin the label to the bottom right corner of the back of the quilt, placing it so that the two raw edges will be caught under the side and bottom binding when I hand sew it. Machine sew the label in place along the raw edges. Now I only have to hand sew two sides of the label, and I know that two sides will be held securely under the binding (especially on any piece I’ve made that will be washed many times, like a baby quilt). Hope this is clear. Thanks! ‘

Your comment makes perfect sense, I sometimes too at this point in the game hate to even think about handsewing anything hahaha......the way you incase your label into the binding is a wonderful way to minimize what needs to be done by hand. Thank you so much for the tips and sharing!!

Deb Plows, You should definitely go for it! Lisa is the best Teacher EVER! She is AWESOME! I had not done any Appliqué in over 19 years until I started doing Lisa’s 2018 DREAM, HOPE & LOVE Mystery Quilt. With her KZfaq Tutorials on Satin Stitching my Appliqué now looks amazing! I talked my dear friend and neighbor Marilyn to join in also even though she had only been sewing Pillow cases for 10 months & a several Blocks from the Splendid Sampler 2 Sew Along and at first her Appliqué was not the prettiest but NOW SHE ROCKS IT! It is all thanks to Lisa. She is so patient and explains everything very thoroughly and in a language that you can understand even if you have no experience sewing. It you really want to try it you should go for it! Marilyn took the plunge and I returned after a 22 year hiatus and we have never looked back (even though our husbands wish we had never started) LOL!!

What a great was to personalize a label using stamps. I make my labels using that method, never thinking to add stamps though but I use old dryer sheets for the back. I am almost finished the Bee Grateful and will do a bee label. I downsized the pattern to 45% to make a wall hanging.

Mimzy Riepensell thank you. I’m getting ready to quilt my granddaughter’s quilt. . It’s a memory quilt with most of her t-tshirts when she was little. I usually do straight line too. This one is a little bigger than others I did. But it’s sometimes difficult to go thru the throat of my machine. Do you do small stitches or use embroidery floss spaced out?
