Awesome little grinder mine was my first bench grinder I'll put her back into service

I didn't know AEG is Ridgid,I bought AEG compound mitre saw,with stand combo for $549 Aussie dollars one year ago,replaced the blade with a diablo,made some other tweaks she works beautifully.

Great review.. will still buy one for my Home workshop I will prolong at some mods and custom things to make my life easier

Pickup an Abbott & Ashby grinder the next time you're in Australia, a proper bench grinder that will never let you down. Hafco is another Australian brand worth looking at.

I also am looking for this toy. I'm in between the 6" Bosch which is surely much better quality and this Makita that I like for its lights, the silent operation and the (crap) magnifying lens. They have pretty the same price so I can't still decide. Steer away from the Ryobi and that other piece of crap Ozito. And just for the record I bought an Ozito mitre saw and that is fine and doing the job very well, but the bench grinder is just garbage. Update: I tried the Bosch 350W bench grinder and found a design flaw that is really irritating. The tool rest on its right side has a conflicting issue when you want to grind drill bits so you're not free to angle the bit. I wonder if the designers ever tried to grind a drill bit!!!
