Global Icon and activist Malala Yousafzai inspires the crowd at World Merit Day July 24th 2014, the "What Matters" Conference and Concert in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Introduced by Sir Ken Robinson, Education Expert (see his speech: • Sir Ken Robinson - Wor... ), she tells us her story of growing up in the North of Pakistan and the arrival of the Taliban. She explains when she took the decision to stand up for her rights. She speaks of the situation for children and women in Syria, Nigeria and Iraq. And lastly she gives an example of why education is important and what it can do by explaining her visit to Africa and the population with whom the organisation Free the Children works.
