Great video! I love it! Hit the shot you need to hit. If it goes bad or a little wrong.......what did I do to cause that............then fix it. Be fluid enough to realize the problem, analyze the shot and do better next time. We are all capable of great shots......let them happen. Just remove what prevented you from performing that good shot! That is an easy mindset.....and a good one.

There is No one that comes close to Mike Malaska: this is priceless. And his latest upload to his KZfaq Channel explains the swing succinctly and simply in a few minutes: All OVER! Thanks Mike and Brendan.

to me there are only 2 teachers at the peak on youtube: Mike Malaska and Shawn Clement. They show the deepest understanding of the game

This is great Mike at his best! He and I may have a few different ideas on how to create a great golf swing but I cannot argue with his points here.

This video is so true about my game. Thank You for letting me know that I'm not the only one who worries about the outcome of a shot on the downswing.

I gotta just play golf because I love it. Recently, playing has been really difficult because I'm having a great nine then a bad nine. Today for example was 38-44. I keep having rounds like this. But I focus on the outcome. I think that since I don't shoot in the 70's every time I play that I suck and will never be as good as I want to be. I can't think like that. Just focus on my shot, if it goes south, try again. This entire game is about managing misses but I forget to realize that it's just a game. It's okay to not be perfect, but it's not okay when you come off the golf course mad after every round. I need to change my mental or I'll never reach my potential.

I had a great moment a week ago on a par 5….great drive 250 out tried to smoke a 3 wood ended up topping it. Was upset up until I got to my ball still 180 out. Down wind stuffed an 8 iron to 10 ft over trees out of the rough. Best shot of the day. Missed the putt but didn’t bother me.

Tiger recovers more easily because he doesn’t need to make cuts to pay the mortgage. After a bad round he gets on his jet, eats catered dinner and flies wherever he wants. That helps out bad chips in perspective.

You don't seem to understand this much. First, waaay before he got rich, he had to learn to play golf and win to a level that got him into those tournaments. He was hitting those shots his whole life. Then, with all the hype in the world weighing him down, and in front of the world watching, he continued to hit the shots and win. People at the top of the food chain in sports or business or whatever, don't care about a pay check. They only care about winning and their status among their peers and the greats of the game. It gets exponentially harder as they win more. Beating Jacks major record would be the hardest feat ever managed if its ever managed directly because of that mindset. Imagine hitting a bad shot and then seeing every news/sports organization pick it apart, tie it to your entire life and every decision you ever made including your swing, divorce etc and even being able to function. Also, he never "recovers easy". He works his ass off in every aspect of his game so that it looks easy. The message here is that Tiger is human and suffers from embarrassment just like the rest of us, but part of his greatness is being able to compartmentalize all of that and put it aside so that he can hit a great shot when he needs to. Thats a very underrated skill/ability that a handful of people ever learn or achieve.

intestesting concept on 'ranking yourself on how you were able to duplicate what you felt'. This is also what Shawn Clement told me. Dont bother about the score - it will take care of itself. Instead grade yourself on how many time you were able to stay with the shot that you wanted.

Of all the Malaska videos I've watched (and there are A LOT of them), this one may ring a little too true to me. Have to stop living and dying on what the outcome is. I've made that statement all too many times about how can I play this bad with all the time I've put into it lately.

Tiger took it personally. I remember him saying "Oh Tiger, you suck!" to himself after a bad shot, so I don't think it has to do with success. Tenacity is always the key.
