In a way North Indians are rht to refer south Indians as madrasi. Another point is that there is no madras now. It's all gone. All South Indians have their own linguistic identities. The problem here is everyone else want to run away and this tamils are alone left to carry these titles such as madrasi. I don't think this has anything to do with Tamils either. If you are actually educated you would know Madrasi does not refer to chennai but the Madras Presidency (The former territory that encompasses South India). Hence in Hindustani, you use "Madrasi"
