Fyi nasi lemak can be considered as our national dish and the rice might seem plain but actually its consists of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf , otherwise the blue rice is comes from the petals of Clitoria ternatea flowers which are used as a natural food coloring in cooking . I'm living in malaysia borneo sabah (Sandakan) we have orang utan & proboscis monkey center and miguel we are pretty near country as well ! If you came here you can hmu ! Sending love from malaysia to philipines 🇲🇾❤

The origin of the Malaysian flag is quite interesting. It is related to both the Indonesian flag and the American flag. It was originally a pirate/navy flag of the region - red and white stripes. The British East India Company (yes, the bad guys form Pirates of the Caribbean) adopted the red and white stripes partly because of its reputation - it is a sign of strength. If you saw a ship flying a flag with red and white stripes in the region you know it is heavily armed. Later the US flag borrowed the red and white stripes motif from the EIC for the same reason - the stripes is there to show strength. Meanwhile Malaysia and Indonesia based our flags on the original pirate/naval flag - only Malaysia use multiple stripes while Indonesia just have one red rectangle and one white rectangle.

- Actually Malay is the only official language of Malaysia. English is recognized as an important language but not official except in Sarawak where it is co-official with Malay. - Malaysian Malays are indigenous to Malaysia and genetically distinct from Sumatrans and genetically resembled Senoi and Prot-Malay people than Sumatrans which are predominantly Austronesian. Yes there are many Sumatrans in Malaysia especially the Minangkabaus whom migrate en masse in the 15th century into what is now Negeri Sembilan but other than that, Sumatrans like Acehnese, Mandailing, Bengkulu, Kerinci, Talu, Rao, Riau Malay are few and rare.

Sabah was NOT part of the Sulu Sultanate. Sulu only CLAIMED that North Borneo (Sabah) was given by Brunei to Sulu as a gift for purportedly helping Brunei fight rebels. But Brunei refuted this claim and denied ever having given North Borneo (Sabah) to Sulu. There was NO DOCUMENT regarding the transfer of ownership of North Borneo (Sabah) from Brunei to Sulu signed by both Sultans.

Sanskrit might be the main language influence by Hinduism but the local speak Ancient Malay. Modern Malay evolved from that Sanskrit influenced Ancient Malay to Arabic Influenced Classical Malay during Malacca Sultanate and modern Malay (Malaysian Malay) influenced by the Colonial English, Portuguese and Dutch after independence Indonesia, American English, Malay dialect and different languages from various part of Malaysia like Cantonese, Mandarin, Hakka, Java and Tamil. Of course there's also Sumatran influenced. The current Standard Modern Malay in Malaysia is based on the Johor - Riau dialect used in Johor.

@@mohdghazali3473 The Malay language is almost completely derived from Sanskrit, and the early literature is predominantly based on the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Even today, a major portion of Malay vocabulary is made up of Sanskrit words.

@@ram.ram.saryane8121 No, yes the Old Malay is filled with Sanskrit Vocabulary but the language is Austronesian descended from Proto-Malayo Polynesian language which includes many languages spoken in maritim Southeast Asia.

The study of language does not only consist of vocabulary, but the time frame this vocabulary appear on historical evidence and based on condition of phonological, morphological and lexical evidence. In fact linguist speculated that the Old Malay of Srivijaya while might be a distant cousin of Classical Malay not a direct ancestors of the Classic Malay that became the precursor of Standard Modern Malay due to the existence of a number of morphological and syntactic peculiarities, and affixes that are familiar from the related Batak and Javanese languages but are not found even in the oldest manuscripts of Classical Malay which created inconsistency and many problems in the claimed. Even more so Sanskrit Language. A huge amount of Sanskrit in Old Malay doesn't make it from India or descended from Sanskrit, even if Sanskrit influenced and vocabulary is over 90%. Related yes but not "from India".
