Hi Jim, great to see how this new Malaysian high speed trains look. And the price seems to be really reasonable compared to an air ticket. 150 RM including a 3 course meal is a bargain. Now i know that i will definately take the train to Penang when i am in Malysia again. Thanks a lot for this very informative video.

Thanks for showing us the biz class. Still remember my first trip with ETS was from Alor Setar to Taiping, albeit in economy class (poor uni student). Its been a while, hopefully I can be back to MY and experience the biz class soon.

You are welcome, There is no luggage check but do check out their luggage policy, there are some prohibited items to carry onboard.

You are welcome. I'd recommend you take the RM1.20 ferry to Georgetown if you arrive in early, else you can take Grab or taxi

Jim ... i love that train service complete with nice Briani lunch. Thank you for showing us this! I have never seen anyone eat a meal while wearing a mask. How do you manage to keep food and drinks from splashing into inside of mask??

It’s not bad, safer and can walk around and stretch. It’s about 4hrs ride but you have to find out the departure times on the KTMB app.

@@Follow_ussg So not passing thru jungles or villages? In Sydney stay as you can to the water, public trans everywhere is excellent but it's nice to be able to walk to the beach. Take a ferry to Watsons Bay pub, spend a day there at the beach, walk the national pk, enjoy the evening views... You cant go wrong really its good here there's so much in Sydney

It's about 4hrs and stops is depending on which train you take, it will stop at different stations.

Looked ok. The food good quaility for the price you paid. And your right by the time you catch the train from KL to the airport which I remember was aboutg an hour . Arrival at the airport another hour. The train makes sense. The ruby lounge was not overwhelming. Just looked like a waiting area away from economy passengers. Needed jazzing up and maybe some snacks . But overall the food price beats the airline service on this route .

I know right? Only 194RM, it's almost half of the price of plane and unlimited baggage weight and delicious food! The ruby lounge is considered comfortable to me, it was quite and cold enough with clean toilet. It is just the annoying passengers in the business class, else it will be a perfect ride

Well the train business class being cheaper than the aircraft economy class and spending about the same time are reason why you should choose the train ride if the flight is less than 3 hours. Also, is there any COVID test needed to board? If there’s no COVID test needed to board, it’s actually pretty ridiculous and mask should be required in this case

Yeah, I think the KTM just don't care, you can see many ppl in the train just pull down their mask :( In that case have to purchase a better cabin and wear better mask for better protection.

Currently this electric train only serve till Gemas but soon will extend to JB sentral. I also hope they operate it for the woodland to JB shuttle!

I think not so soon :( You may still take the old KTM train from JB to Gemas and change to the ETS. Where you plan to visit? Maybe we can go together if you are visiting places I did not vlog before.

Hi JL, It is depending on the train you take, you can go to 1:38 in the video and find out what time the lounge open for you to visit. It open open for some period before the train depart.

Honestly this train is really comfortable. Not sure you tried the train in any other Asia country except Japan and Taiwan. For the price and the comfort, this train really impress me as a traveller.

@@Follow_ussg The Class 91 trains were built by Hyundai Rotem and Mitsubishi Electric. These Class 93 are made by CRS Zuzhou of China.
