What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

Actually a no with a straight face and no smiles is a much better answer. Saying having a boyfriend with a smile can be interpreted as I like you but having a boyfriend is a problem. I understand however why they do that. Because they're afraid and they want to be kind to not piss the creep but it's not the right way to go about in my opinion.

Disgusting... I work at Arby's, and some guy named Cody came in and asked me if he could possibly get a discount on a carton of curly fries. Unfortunately, I had to say no, in accordance with company policy. Taking pity on him, I offered to buy him a meal. That was also against company policy, as my manager informed me at the moment. Cody left, then, after staring at me through the drive-thru window on foot (twice), came back a bit later with a $10.00 bill. I figured that some passerby must have lent it to him, but it turned out to be a routine for this patron. Days went by without incident, then Cody came in search of employment. At first, I was stoked to see a homeless man attempting to get his life in order. However, upon asking my manager how likely it would be for him to get hired, I found out that due to his past scheming behaviour, the likelihood was very low... and I soon found out why. I was working on my closing tasks the same day Cody got himself an interview, and he stopped by, asking if he could help out a bit with my shift. Again, this was against company policy, even for him to ask my manager to fetch trash bags, as I was running out of time in my shift, and wanted to speed things up in order to have all my lobby tasks completed. A bit unfair, but okay. This is my first job, and I want to keep it. This is the part where Cody suggests that the two of us hang out after my shift, which ran until 7:00. I barely know this guy, so I naturally declined. A few days later, after missing his interview, Cody returned, begging for a second chance, as he supposedly had an appointment. Then he once again asked if I could hang out with him after my shift. Like last time, I declined. Since my co-workers had just received a barrage of drive-thru and GrubHub orders, I was needed in the back kitchen, leaving Cody in the lobby with his two buffalo chicken sliders and curly fries (paid in full out of his pocket). Our sliders come in small cartons, and when I returned to the lobby after the lunch rush, I caught Cody filling one of those cartons with soda, which is strictly prohibited, and I'm not an idiot, this is well known among the homeless population in this area. I confronted him, and he tried defending himself by stating that he does that all the time, and nobody has said anything. I told him to get out, and he fell shutteringly silent, as if I had just told him I had killed his dog or something. He was banned from the store by the assistant manager, and I just saw him today, attempting to make amends, but sadly, his act didn't work. Good riddance.

Just from a guy's perspective: A lot of girls lie about having a bf just so he will leave her alone, so that's why a lot of guys don't believe it. And how are we supposed to know if a girl actually likes us or is just being nice to us? It's basically impossible since society pressures the man to show interest and make the first move. So for some guys, the realization that all those women were only being nice to him because they were paid to, can be quite depressing (especially if he's had limited/no success with women his entire life). Women can be very harsh when turning down a guy and maybe if they realized how much guts it takes to ask a girl out, they would let him down a bit easier. Rejection hurts (even to men). All that being said, guys should know not to hit on girls who are at work who can't escape. They should be more graceful if they do get rejected, even if she lied to him about having a bf (they need to respect her choice, same as he'd want if he rejected a woman that he wasn't attracted to). I think if men and women understood each other's position a little bit better, a lot of these awkward situations can be avoided.
@johnsampson6387
@johnsampson6387 5 жыл бұрын
@horsewhisper3 Well I'm sorry you've gone through that. Obviously it is justified in that scenario. However, I honestly can't relate to that because I never get hit on or asked out. It can be pretty lonely but on the other hand it's nice not to be bothered. They keep trying to persuade you because some women play hard to get at first so they don't seem "easy" so the guy's persistence has probably been rewarded in the past. But again, they shouldn't be asking you out at your job, obviously. I'm sorry that your experience with them has caused you to have a skewed view of men in general, but I understand being cautious. I can't really judge you much because being ignored by most women that i was interested in dating has left me thinking a lot of them are cold, heartless and stuck up (whether it is due to some bad experiences they've with some other men). I have realized more and more the past couple years that there is more to it than that since I've heard more and more from a woman's perspective and tried to understand it more from their point of view. It has helped me to take things less personally.

Something about the way that man said “you had a brother right here”, instead of trying to be a father figure, really spoke to me. I know it’s such a small thing, and in no way would I have been offended if he had said father, but something about the way he said that made me feel like he saw her as an equal. Like she didn’t need to be protected as much as she needed to be backed by a team. What a great couple!

God; that's so good to see. In all my years as a waitress nobody ever blinked an eye at this kind of thing. Managers told me it was part of my job and to just smile through it. I could almost cry at the "Don't get creepy; dude". That's awesome. The world CAN change for the better!

Once when I was working as a barista I said what I always say to every customer “Hi welcome to ________ what can I get started for you?” This 50-60 year old man’a immediate reaction was “oh you’ve already gotten something started for me baby” He then proceeded to try and get my number multiple times. I was clearly uncomfortable and no one said a damn thing. Ever since then, I have to think about what I am going to say to a customer specifically, to make sure it can’t be turned into some perverted reply. It’s not just on TV.

“How should you treat women?” “As a human, not an object.” That made me feel so emotional. I’m a woman and I see this type of behaviour everywhere at the moment and it hurts to see women under risk like that. Xx💕 Edit: There are a lot of people that comment a load of hate and I just wanted to say that without women you wouldn’t be born, without woman you wouldn’t have a relationship in the future, without woman you wouldn’t be cared the way your mother does. So if you have anything mean in your mind don’t say it unless it’s been bugging you ever since.😓 x Edit 2: OMG! I haven’t been keeping track of the likes. Thanks soooooo much for the likes!💗😝 x
