The four generation family had such an amazing reaction with the guy, i can't believe it! Asking him to eat with them even though he was being a huge jerk. They still treated him with kindness that he clearly didn't deserve. So proud of those people! Amazing people!!

As a waitress of two years I can say that this happens a lot. You can have that order absolutely perfect and some people will still find something to complain about.

A waiter once got my order wrong. I didn't care too much and just ate it. It's now my favorite dish at that resteraunt

This happens WAY more the opposite way round. I'm a waitress and, generally, older people are so much more demanding and entitled than younger people are.

I feel like everyone, at some point in their lives should work in customer service (cashier, waiter, etc.) It really puts into perspective as to what some of these people have to deal with, and it helps you deal with "slow" service with more patience and compassion

I've worked as a waiter for about 2 years before I made a career change. I've learnt that often people truly reveal their real personality by how they behave in a restaurant and the way they treat waiters/waitresses. Hence why waiters/waitresses are good at reading people.

To be completely honest I usually do tell the waiter if they get something wrong with my order but I am actually polite and I don’t verbally attack them. That’s just inappropriate.

In real life it's usually the opposite (elderly people acting rude towards young service people). Just saying.

Ever since I started watching this tv series, I’ve come to realize that in any type of situation. Whether it’s a big or small one. Once you become a witness to any type of situation, then you know that you should definitely take instant action and not let it get worse. There’s an old saying, “If you see something, say something.” As for John Quinones who came up with the idea, I give him two thumbs up and applaud him.

As a waitress, in my early 20's, I will never forget the time two years ago when I had a customer behave so rudely to me because I put their order in wrong and somebody had put sweet tea in the regular tea pitcher that I used. Like I was crying in the freezer over the things this man yelled at me, embarrassing me in public like that. I will never forget the couple next to that table who asked for the manager at the host stand to come to my aid and speak up for me. I will never forget that. If you're questioning whether or not you should do something about something that makes you uncomfortable, do it. It will most likely have a great impact on the life of the person you are helping.

I would actually love to see this kind of reversed. I am a 16 year old cashier and at one moment an elderly woman was pretty rude to me. Though my boss spoke up to her, asking to woman to be a little more polite. People behind the woman said that my boss should have respect for the elderly. So I would really love to see the kind of reversed situation of this and see what other people would do😅

It's hard not to get emotional when a senior citizen has no choice but to work or be homeless. It's very important to be nice to everyone because you don't know what war they're fighting.

Of course I’m on the waiters side, but as a 22 year old waiter who constantly deals with rude nasty elderly customers it’d be nice if we actually got backup sometimes. Idk maybe when you’re older it’s just cute to behave that way than when you’re 18.

I experienced exactly the same thing when I was about 17. Someone with my table (not a friend) complained that an old lady server was to slow and even asked for the manager. I argued with him… I regret I didn’t do more to standup for the lady server. Every time I see an older person working at restaurants or Walmart, I think to myself I know they don’t really want to work at those jobs at their unless they have to. Have compassion for all ! :)

Best example set by the senior bunch.. they had faith that young man would change, If they gave him a chance. Treated him with love. Asked him to join with them for lunch. How nice... ❤️ They had compassion for both persons. Thats maturity..

He was right to complain, but to target reasons being his age or him personally is out of order. I mean amount of times waiters etc get the simplest of things wrong, even the SAME waiter everytime go to a restaurant rather then belittle the waiter I just refuse to go eat there.

At my old job, we had a few older employees who I’m still close with have a hard time with running the register. As far as I know no ones berated them like this. But you never know what position people are in. one coworker is past 65 and he’s had a hard time. Walks over two miles to work because he doesn’t have a car, has no family and is just a nice guy. So someone who’s older and working jobs that are usually taken up by young people deserve respect. People can be on the brink of losing everything and they’re trying to hold on. Just be patient on those who are working their asses off.

Service people are unsung heroes in this country. They dont get standing ovations at big events like military and police. But they are just as important. Our country can't function without them. I always tip around 50%

In Sweden it is more comon whith elder ppl that still works due to the low pension. So do not be rude to an older worker. They are just doing there jobb and they are doing a great jobb.
