Import these files into your own DAW to compare the TF11 FET, TF29/39 Copperhead, TF47 and TF51 from the Alchemy Series, TELEFUNKEN’s next generation of large diaphragm tube and FET condenser microphones.
Every source was recorded in mono with each microphone in cardioid configuration. All four microphones were recorded through a Grace 801 preamp direct into a Lynx Aurora converter at 24Bit/48K and captured via Pro Tools HD.
NOTE: For the purposes of this comparison, only the TF39 Copperhead Deluxe was used to represent the "Copperhead" sound. The TF29 and TF39 in cardioid exhibit the exact same characteristics.

i gotta say that 29/39 is the winner when it comes to thick warm recordings.

Just bought the TF51 a month ago and it has made a drastic difference in my vocal chain! Did a shoot out with a Modern U87 and my TF51 (BAE 1073-TUBETECH CL1B-Pro Tools HD) and the engineer and myself preferred the TF51! Cant go wrong with anything in this line up!!

So the TF51 is better than the U87? If you had one choice only and could pick one of them only what one would you go for ?

@@ItzrealMusic I wouldn’t say it’s better in totality. They’re different. The Modern u87 and the TF51 captured the same amount of information on the vocal, the TF51 seemed to sculpt the vocal and present it in a “closer to finished” sound than the Modern u87 did. The low end was more defined, midrange much more smoother and high end had an extra sparkle I felt was lacking in the modern u87. There was a clear distinction between low-mid-high although it blended in beautifully on the TF51. The Modern u87 gradient from low end to mid range didn’t present the same detail as the TF51. Granted these are all on only one set of vocals so take what I’m saying with that in mind as well. ALL IN ALL if I could only choose one mic out of the two… TF51 for the win! I’ve recorded other vocals with this mic and it’s worked perfect for every male hip hop & R&B vocal I’ve done. Hope this was informative for you!

@@nunu9849 I’ve personally never tried the other 2 options however my love and conviction on the TF-51 has grown exponentially over the months I’ve had it. I love it and the artist I record enjoy it as well. What style of music are you doing?

I record NBA Youngboy type vocals, rapping to singing as well, im stuck between choosing the TF 47 or TF 51 ? Any suggestions ?

Great singers make everything sound good but for this voice the 47

As much as I wanna say that the 29/39 is better on his voice because I’m biased. Cause I own the TF29. But I gotta admit for his voice, the 47 was better. Dang it. 😂😂

@@CrispyAkiyama I really like it. With me having a low register like the singing, it does bring out the low mid a bit but it. It is worth it. Cause it is good on his voice.
