I was 33 when I first watched this six years ago, I thought it was bizarre and hilarious and showed it to folk at work who lol'd too, but did think it had some "darkness" to it which just added to the fascination. The soundtrack is pretty much as twisted as the animation is too. I come back now 39, and still think the same, it's still amazing! And the weird reverberating synth noise that has its pitch altering starting at about 1:25 still gives me the chills a bit!

Stage 1: Nothing too strange except for that weird dog thingy. Stage 2: The lady seems a bit uncoordinated, the house is bouncing a little, more thingies, distorted humans, and distorted cars Stage 3: The lady is having some sort of seizure, a LOT more thingies, heavily distorted cars and humans, the house has a face, and more objects are deforming. I return to this so often. As amazing as the visuals are, it's the music that always brings me back. I think the tune's in 13/8 time signature which really helps with the whole "off" vibe.

I love this. Everything is so calm, orderly, and peaceful. Then this creature, that's anything but what I just said, appears and mucks everything up. Why? No reason I suppose. If there is a reason, I think the only one that could tell us is the creature itself. Sadly I also think that the reason would be useless to us since I doubt we could ever comprehend it in our lifetime.

The artist makes an excellent statement (maybe unintentionally) about how people who are trapped in the daily monotony of caring for their families can cause them to go insane from the lack of creative outlets, lack of exploring their own potential, even just the inability to explore the outside world beyond where it’s acceptable for them to be in their roles. He might not have meant to create that symbology but it really speaks to me. Thanks for sharing it!
