What's your Wilder-Zhang prediction? 🤔👇

@thesmithsnerd Wilders not done, he's the same as he always was. an overhyped can crusher. He's knocked out nothing but cans. Not ONE top heavyweight has he KOd. Gets embarrassed when he fights a decent fighter. The question is, is zhang a decent fighter? If so, windmill wilder has no chance

Malik Scott has been an absolute disaster for Deontay Wilder🤷Deontay Wilder has a "seek and destroy" come forward style. Malik does not understand this. And Malik does not understand how to train a big man..Malik has Deontay slippin' and slidin' and boxin' like a welterweight...ITS THE WRONG STYLE FOR DEONTAY💯🫣
@Nonya-pi4rz

Malik has been trying to teach him fundamentals, he can take the horse to the water, he cant make him drink it or do it under the lights
@regularbob
@regularbob 3 ай бұрын
@@Nonya-pi4rz But Malik should already know that Deontay started boxing late...It has been a MISTAKE for Malik to try to recreate Deontay's style...Deontay is a come forward fighter who has success when he is the aggressor. THAT is the style Malik needs to keep improving. What Malik has done is do nothing but confuse Deontay with all this BS that Malik has him doin...All I know is this: Since Malik joined the team Deontay has gone DOWN HILL💯🤷
@carl1799
@carl1799 2 ай бұрын
BINGO!!! Malik is trying to implement a style that he tried himself at the end of his career that DIDNT WORK!!! How much time and fights does wilder need to see his time under Malik is a FAILURE? Same with Roy jones jr where everyone he trains he implements his style like he was as a fighter almost a clone which FAILED EVERY TIME. Malik is very knowledgeable of boxing but doesn’t means he’s a good trainer! Knowing your fighter especially a pro that’s well into his career and perfecting his strengths and adding things suitable to what he’s almost used to instead of redirecting a fighters whole style based off what Malik tried to do as a fighter
@regularbob
@regularbob 2 ай бұрын
@@carl1799 You articulated that extremely well, sir💯Wilder should have stayed with Mark Breland🤷Hopefully Deontay can pull out a victory but I just think that Malik is doing so much damage to Deontay by changing his style that it will be difficult to beat Zhang...even at 41.
@carl1799
@carl1799 2 ай бұрын
@@regularbob 🤝 I agree!! Here we are after another loss under Malik Scott’s belt as a trainer lol. Wilder should retire and when he looks back he’ll realize the damage and waste of time it was having his bro Malik as his trainer. When it comes to mark breland Wilders success led to their downfall. Wilder depended on his right hand and never developed his skill set and didn’t listen to Breland to the point Wilder was doing whatever he wanted and once he lost like any fighter they need someone to blame but it was over well before the first loss

I don't comment much anymore. But I will. Wilder is a legend. Why he hasn't simply embarked on a new journey with a legendary trainer is beyond me at this point. Freddie Roach, Teddy Atlas, Eddie Reynoso, Nacho Bernstein, Buddy Mcgirt, Abel Sanchez, Robert Garcia, Bo Mac, guy who wears the canadian tuxedos all the time whose name escapes me. Even Mark Ramsey would be better that Malik Scott. Dude is too loyal. Loyalty is good, but in a game where your getting punched in the head for a living there comes a time when you have to do what's best for you.

I know what you are saying. But what many don`t realize is that Deontay appreciates and connects with loyalty with friendship and with trust. He has also been betrayed too many times and knows all too well the dark side of this business. Deontay has a great relationship with Malik. My gripe has been that Malik seems a bit too technical and analytical for Deontay especially at this stage of his career. We have to fact facts that Deontay will stay with Malik so let`s hope they find the crucial balance together at this late stage. I just think Deontay responds better to keeping the tactics and advice more simple but still effective in accordance to his strengths. Especially during the fight. At times when i seen Deontay in trouble struggling i would rather see Malik simply revving him up or instilling more confidence and motivation rather than giving Deontay a plethora of advice/instructions to follow when it looks like he might have trouble even knowing for sure what day it is. I could be wrong but to me Deontay sometimes looks too confused in the ring since he has been with Malik. I love Malik and respect his knowledge. This is no disdain toward him it is just a observation which i hope i am wrong. Or either they are already aware to some extent and work to rectify. Having said that i honestly believe someone like Kronk Sugar Hill would have been a great match with Deontay but then again i can`t see those two being as personable and building such a great friendship as Deontay has done with his brother Malik which is hugely important to him and helps keep him in this crazy sport we love to hatet. Let`s not write this duo off yet. If Deontay and Malik get things right and find that balance, if Deontay stays committed with 100% effort then the world could be in for a surprise. Sometimes great things take more time. For now i shall stay optimistic with these two. Saturday of course will be telling.

Like the majority of people (it seems), i have doubts about Malik's ability to train Wilder effectively. However, it's clear to see that he has an abundance of boxing knowledge in general. So therefore, i think he would be better suited in an advisory role, from the outside looking in. Knowing how close they are, that dynamic would work perfectly in my opinion. But first and foremost, Wilder needs a coach that can enhance his existing style (with a few tweaks here and there), not change it. And i say this, regardless of the result of the Zhang fight.

Incredible insight..dont agree that Wilder can beat Usyk unless he knocks him out but Usyk is really hard to hit and Wilder will be forced to fight on the back foot and fight at angles he will find it difficult load up.. Wilder couldnt beat Parker.. how could he beat Usyk? the only fighter to beat Usyk is Usyk. But his preparation is second to none and he has the best corner in the world IMO.
